Friday 12th October 2012 we decided to go shopping at the outlets at Woodbury Common which was an hour bus rise out of New York City. We had to book our bus tickets online at the hotel and then walk a couple of blocks to the bus depot. It is a very popular shopping day and the buses were packed. Some people take out empty large suitcases to put all their shopping in.
The shopping complex was very spread out with a lot of walking required if you wanted to cover most of the shops. We spent most of the day there and got some good clothes shopping done. We caught the bus back at about 3.30 in the afternoon which required an hours wait on the bus and then a two hour trip back to New York City so it was dinner time by the time we got home. We had dinner at Times Square and had a night walk along the shops.
Saturday 13th October 2012 we had a good clear weather day so we decided to venture up the Rockefellow Center to check out the views there. It was worth the effort as I thought the views were better than from the Empire State Building. There was not too much of a wait there once we got through the security check which is usually the main hold up.
In the afternoon we had a look around that area and decided that we should see at least one Museum before we leave. We had a look through the Museum of Modern Art which had some famous painting on display. I am not too impressed with some of the modern art - I guess it is all in the eye of the beholder but it did not do too much for me.
