Week two at "The Bay" (Byron Bay) was just as lovely as the first week. The weather has been perfect every day with the exception of the odd light short shower during the day and some showers at night.
Vickie & John and Charlotte and Dudley left on Sunday to head for home. George and Tosca went to Caboulcha to visit an Uncle of Tosca. Peter & I played golf at Byron Bay with an 8 oçlock hit off so that we would be finished by lunch time when Ken & Marg were due to visit for a couple of days.
We enjoyed our golf game (pity about the score) except that Peter lost 5 golf balls and I lost my 9 iron during the game and unfortunately it was not handed in. There were not a lot of players on the course early and we finished 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours just in time to meet Ken & Marg at the clubhouse for lunch. The course was not as manicured as it was the year before but it is still a good course.
Ken & Marg stayed over for two nights and they enjoyed re-visiting the area as it was their stomping grounds in Ken's youth and his mother lived here in past years. We had a nice night out at the RSL for dinner and watched the cricket and tennis there. The boys did some fishing and Marg, Tosca and I did some browsing of the shops at "The bay".
The last few days we have rested up at the beach and the boys have fished. We had lunch at the Brunswick Hotel with Judy and Graham (the past managers of the park) and we had Julie & Phil (the current park managers) over for a drink at cabin 10 on Wednesday night.
Thursday we had a history mystery trip in George's 4 wheel drive which led us to Coolangatta for lunch, visited point Danger, Rainbow Bay, Tumblegum, Murwillimbah, Uki, Mt Jeruselum National Park and back home via Main Arm Road. It was an interesting day with some lovely scenery and farmlands. I had a quick swim after we came home and then we went out for Dinner at "The Bay".
Today (Friday 4th February) Peter and I had the morning at the beach and this afternoon I went with Tosca to see the movie "Black Swan". It has been a lovely day - a bit too windy for fishing unfortunately for the boys. Dinner at home at Cabin 10 tonight.
