This week has been about a lot of gardening at the golf club in and around showers. We have been donated hundreds of plants so I have been busy planting with some help from my friends.
Wednesday 23rd May 2012 I had a quite day at home while Peter played golf - as I had promised myself. I spent the day on the computer scanning in more photos. I have finished most of Rod's photos and am now working on Shane's many photos.
Thursday 24th May 2012 it was an overcast day to start with so I decided to plant out the remainder of the lavender plants into the garden at the golf club. I just got them in before the heavy rain set in. It was not a very nice day so we cancelled the planned trip to collect agavi plants for the golf club. Instead we took a trip to the garden to set up another date to collect the plants & to have a look at what volume we were dealing with. The garden was full of succulents which we need for the golf club so we organised an appointment for the following Monday to pick the larger plants up. Meanwhile we took some in the boot of the car so I could make a start. Thursday night we had a meeting at the golf club which was an information night for members which was finished by 10.30pm.
Friday 25th May 2012 I went over to the club to plant out the agavi plants that we had collected yesterday and I also planted out 60 Rhoeo plants in another garden. That night we went to the Golf Club for Raffle night but did not win any prizes this week but had a nice social night anyway.
Saturday 26th May 2012 we did some household shopping and then went over to Rod and Anne's to babysit the kids while Rod & Anne went to a birthday luncheon. Both Joel and Emily had chest colds and the weather was cold and windy so we kept them quiet inside. They were both very well behaved.
That night we went to the Narara/Wyoming Cricket Club Presentation night where Peter presents a trophy for the "Colt of the Year" in Greg's memory. It was good to catch up with all the old group that we knew from Peter's cricket era and did not get home until 1.30am.
Sunday 27th May 2012 we had a late breakfast to catch up from the previous night out and then went to golf at 11.00am. Our playing partners were Ron & Lyn Puiatti who are always great company. We had some good highlights with the boys both scoring a birdie each - but the girls beat the boys for the keno ticket and I played well enough to win a ball. We all stayed for dinner at the club after golf to finish off a good day.
Monday 28th May 2012 (today) we were at F-Troop at 7.00am ready for a busy day. We picked up a trailer load of succulent plants from Wamberal and I spent the rest of the morning planting them all in the gardens with the help of a couple of the F-Troopers. This afternoon I went to the Doctors and got an antibiotic for my chest infection which is still annoying me. I also got a flu shot to have me covered for the winter months ahead.
It is very cold tonight and tomorrow is not supposed to be a very nice day which is not good as I am playing in the Club Foursomes Championships over 27 holes at 9.30 in the morning. I am a fair weather golfer so will not be happy if it rains as play must go on regardless. Wednesday I am having a day in Sydney to see "Officer and a Gentleman" so I am looking forward to that.
