I had a pretty ordinary week with my chest infection showing no signs of abating in spite of decongestants and cold & flu tablets. As a result not much has been done except soldiering on with golf & F-Troop.
Tuesday 1st May 2012 we had a nice day for golf. My playing partners were Julie Craig & Robin Incoll. We had a good day on the village green although our scores were a bit ordinary.
Wednesday 2nd May 2012 Peter had his day at golf while I rested up at home. I went into Gosford to the chemist to get some more tablets etc and visited the jeweller to drop off a locket that I am getting done up for Emily (for when she is a bit older). I did get a few more photos done - but with little enthusiasm.
Thursday 3rd May 2012 Peter had come down with a bad chest as well so we had a quite day at home doing as little as possible.
Friday 4th May 2012 we did some household shopping before coming home to rest up again. We were both too sick to go to the raffle night at the club and had an early night instead.
Saturday 5th May 2012 Graham came for the weekend to play some golf at Gosford. I had a quite day at home while the boys played golf. I was still not feeling the best. I cooked up a Mum's Lamb Roast for Graham & Peter when they got home from golf and had a quite evening at home.
Sunday 6th May 2012 we had a leisurely breakfast & Graham came over with us to Rod & Anne's to see Joel & Emily before going to golf. Rod was still sick with his chest cold & Joel was still recovering from his chest infection. Joel has been diagnosed with Asthma which is not good. He now has to learn to use puffers.
Graham was due to hit off at golf before us so we got away from Rod's about 10.30. Our playing partners were Duncan & Rosalie Dyer and we had a good day. It was a beautiful day for golf & it did me good to be out in the sunshine. The boys beat the girls for the keno ticket on the last hole - but my highlight was coming in runner up in the ladies comp with 38 points so I was happy. We stayed for dinner at the club with some of our golfing friends. Graham had to go home to look after the dog after he had finished golf.
Monday 7th May 2012 we were up early for F-Troop as we had a big day ahead with a lot of projects to do. I was not feeling the best so I acted as supervisor and gofer for the day. We had some extra workers today which was very helpful.
Tuesday 8th May 2012 we had a big golf day on for the ladies being our Open Day. We had 150 starters and it was a team event so I needed to turn up whether I felt like it or not. Fortunately it was a beautiful weather day and it was lovely to be out in the sunshine. My playing partners were Lorraine Bignall, Fran James and Mary Beard. Mary had the same chest infection that I had so she shared the cart with me and we coughed our way around the course. Our team won a ball in the competition & the girls were great company so it was a lovely day. We did have a bit of drama through the day when one of our older lady members slipped and broke her ankle very badly during the match. And then if that was not bad enough one of the other girls had a car accident and wrote her car off - fortunately for her she somehow escaped injury. It was along day (5 hours to play our match) and I was very tired when I got home. An early night was in order.
Wednesday 9th May 2012 (today) I am still coughing and felling fed up with myself. I went into Gosford to the chemist, got something to have for dinner tonight that was easy & then back home to rest. If this infection does not settle I may need to go to the doctors for some antibiotics to shift it.
I have a quite day programmed for tomorrow but I will have to make a move in my gardens here at home as they are starting to look like a jungle.
