Joel at "Little Kickers"
It was a very busy week with some cold, wet and miserable weather. Winter has arrived and it has not been kind so far. The antibiotics that the Doctor prescribed for me have kicked in at last and my cough has abated.
Tuesday 29th May 2012 - after all my complaining about wet weather golf and how much I hate playing in the rain - the Foursomes Championship was played on another wet day. It was only raining very lightly when we first started so my partner Rosemary Cohen and I decided to go ahead an play against our better judgement. The weather fined up and the first 18 holes were not that bad. However the last nine holes were miserable. We got soaking wet & having got that far were obligated to finish. Our playing partners were Lorraine Bignall and Chris Cayley who were great company. None of us seemed to be playing particularly well. After 9 holes we were two shots up, after 18 holes they were two shots up. After 27 holes we beat them by one shot. Rosemary and I had picked up our game on the last nine holes and managed (to our shock and surprise) to come in winners of the 27 hole nett in Division 2 and won on a countback. A very close finish! Needless to say we were happy that we had not pulled out. Shane called in before I left for golf this morning and took the double bed from our spare room which will give me an opportunity to re-hash the room.
Wednesday 30th May 2012 - I went to Sydney for the day with some of the Golf girls to see "An Officer and a Gentleman" at the Lyric Theatre. It was cold and overcast but it did not rain. We had a nice day having lunch at the Star City Buffet with a nice glass of wine before the show. It was very entertaining with a good story line following the movie. I almost lost my iphone having dropped out of my bag at interval of the show. Fortunately for me it was found under a seat where I had walked out & was kept there for me when I came back searching for it. Whew! I would be horrified if I lost my phone or my ipad as I use them constantly. I have also lost my watch - but I don't know where. Hopefully it will turn up around the house somewhere.
Thursday 31st May 2012 We went to Bunnings to pick up a few things for the golf club gardens and then I went over to the golf club to plant out some orchids and succulents that had been donated to the club. As we had received a lot of rain overnight I thought it would be a good time to get them all in.
Friday 1st June 2012 I went over to Rod & Anne's to look after Emily while Anne took Joel to "Kindygym". Emily has been quite sick the last few days with a chest infection that has required anti biotics. Emily slept just about the whole time I was there and was good as gold when she was up. I stayed for lunch and left when the kids went down for their naps.
Saturday 2nd June 2012 we did the usual household shopping and also picked up a storage box for the kids toys. Peter went to golf and I spent the rest of the day cleaning out the spare room and doing all the house floors with the steam mop. That night we wet out to Bert & Annie Brinks place for dinner. Col & Lauren picked us up and we had a lovely night with Ron & Lynn, Bert & Annie re-living our golf holiday in China.
Sunday 3rd June 2012 we had Rod, Joel and Emily arrive for the morning at 7.30am. Anne had worked the night shift at the hospital so Rod bought the kids over so that Anne could have a good sleep. It was a cold, wet and miserable day and I was not at all unhappy about cancelling our golf game with Yvonne & Des. It was far too wet for golf so the kids could stay longer and stayed until 3.00pm. We were intending to go to the Golf Club for dinner on that night but we were both too tired and it was still wet and cold.
Monday 4th June 2012 (today) the rain had gone and we had blue sky and sunshine. We were at F-Troop by 7.00am and worked through until 12.00 o'clock. We got some good work done and it was nice to be out in the sunshine. During the week I had bought some clothes racks (on line) and they were delivered today. I am going to turn the spare room into a walk in wardrobe for my clothes. I have got some shoe racks on the way ( also bought on line ) so I should be able to get the room organised this week.
I have not got too much more done with my photo graveyard. I did get a bit done through the week.
Tomorrow we have President vs Captain's day at golf so I am hoping that the weather forecast is wrong. It is supposed to be windy and wet which will not make me happy. It is a team game and it will be a shame if it rains. Another day like today would be good.
