Wednesday 9th July 2008

This last week or so has been catch up time in my own garden as well as a lot of work in the Golf Club gardens in between golf games of course. The weather has been cold and windy on some days making it uncomfortable on the course but the wind is doing its job drying up the course and making it much more user friendly. Some of the days have been lovely and I have managed to get three quarters of the rose pruning done. I filled up every green bin in our street with rose cuttings & had to put the rest on hold until I have more bin room.
Today I had a"me" day - or at least half of a one. I had a facial at my local beauticians which was very relaxing and she assured me that I looked 10 years younger. I have stayed away from mirrors all day so that the illusion is not destroyed. This afternoon was catch up with the house day so that I have everything up to date as possible so I can spend the next two days finishing the roses & another day at the Golf Club gardens before the weekend.
Peter has had the flu for the last couple of weeks and is not happy that he is not getting better.
Today was exceptionally cold with a biting wind - I was not unhappy to be occupied inside the house for the afternoon.
We are scheduled for a day at Port Macquarie on Saturday, Wauchope on Sunday (Golf at Wauchope), Coffs Harbour on Monday (Golf at Bonville), Royal Pines Golf Resort on the Gold Coast Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, Burleigh Heads on Friday & Saturday & Ipswich on Sunday. Watch this spot for reports. I plan on checking out Mum's house at Burleigh & doing up the gardens as they have been neglected for a long period of time.
Last Saturday night we had dinner at Bruce & Gwen White's place along with our other fellow golfers going on our golf tour next week. We had another practice game of "500" for my benefit as I am not a card player & it shows. I will be making up the numbers & hope that I will draw some 'lucky cards' when we have challenge card games while we are away.
Images attached: At Golf on Tuesday 1st July with my playing partners Sue Suters & Gwen White - it was a cold windy day but at least sunny; native garden on the 6th tee - getting an upgrade; golf club garden on the 2nd gradually getting filled with plants; roses newly pruned at the golf club practice putting green; golf Sunday 6th July - with our playing partners Tania Burt & Spencer Walklate; golf - Tuesday 8th July with my playing partners Julie Hazzard & Christine Drakeford - we managed to get most of our game played before the rain started so it was not too bad.
