It is wonderful to see all of my roses bursting out in colour. I love spring time.
Thursday 26th September 2013 we went out to buy the mulch and potting mix that I need for my garden. In the afternoon I put in a concerted effort with my travel blog and it is now all up to date with our Cunnamulla experience. To view our travel photos go to the top of this page and select "View my profile" from there you can select my travel blog to view.
Friday 27th September 2013 We did the household shopping and then I spent some time in the front gardens weeding and laying out mulch to some of the gardens. That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles. We did not win any prizes this week.
Saturday 28th September 2013 we had a big wedding in the wedding garden and the Bride and Groom were arriving by helicopter - landing on the golf course. We started early as it was a very windy day which did not help with our cleaning up. We put up a new archway and I came home to get some extra ivy from the garden to decorate the archway. The wedding was 3.30 in the afternoon so Anne's Mum and Dad dropped Joel over to our house so that I could take him to the Golf Club to see the helicopter. Peter gave him a ride in the golf cart which he loved.
Sunday 29th September 2013 Rod, Anne, Joel and Emily came over for breakfast. They had been sick with a vomiting virus through the week and had given it to Anne so she was not too well. We went to golf about 10.30 to play in the third round of the Team Series. Our team players were Mark Stimpson & Faye Levenspiel. We played reasonably well with Mark scoring 42 points and I got 38 points. Mark won nearest the pin so we scored some golf balls as well. We came in equal 3rd place - won no prizes but had a great day. After golf we stayed on for a Dinner Dance following the Presentation. Anne sent me a message to say she needed an emergency babysitter for tomorrow as her Mum had come down with the same virus.
Monday 30th September 2013 was F-Troop Day. Anne dropped Joel and Emily off at 6.30 am on her way to work. Peter went to F-Troop at 7.00am and I followed later with Joel and Emily in the Double Stroller that they love riding in. I put them both in the golf cart strapped in for safety and managed to get some plants out to the gardens. Joel and Emily helped with the plants and watering and picked up some sticks that had come down in the wind. We had morning tea with the F-Troopers and I had packed a picnic for Joel and Emily. I took them home at lunch time and we had a quiet afternoon until Rod picked them up after he finished work.
Tuesday 1st October 2013 I played golf in very windy, stormy weather. My playing partners were Lesley Gregory and Sandy Laybutt. We had a good fun day in spite of the weather. We did get a bit wet on the last hole but were lucky to be in before the big squall came in. Lesley was beaten on a countback for a win, I had 38 points including two 4 pointers and a gobbler, won a ball and won the raffle which was a bottle of red wine and a $15 Myer Voucher. I got home about 2.30pm and was feeling a little off colour. Sure enough by dinner time I was down and out with the same virus - in bed before sundown. Not happy Jan.
Wednesday 2nd October 2013 I have had a very slow day only doing the necessaries. I tried to do some gardening out the front but had to give up after one garden. Thankfully it is only a 24 hour virus so I should be back on deck by tomorrow.
