Wednesday 23rd October 2013

This was a busy week with a lot of very hot weather.  We could certainly use some nice steady rain.

Thursday 17th October 2013 was the last day of the Ladies Championships.  I decided that I would play at the end of the field as I was not playing in the Championships and I played with Jann Henebury & Lauren Matterson.  It was an awful day - hot & windy and my chest infection was not improving.  Thank heavens for the golf cart otherwise I would not have made it around.  My golf was not good but I did not loose a shot on my handicap.  That evening Rod, Anne, Joel & Emily came over for dinner as a celebration night for their holidays.  Shane & Rod were flying out to Bali on Saturday morning and Anne, Joel & Emily were off to Queensland for a week's holiday with her family.

Friday 18th October 2013 we went to Wamberal to pick up some more donated succulent plants and dropped them off at the Golf Club.  We planted in a couple of the larger plants and then I worked in the Wedding Garden getting it ready for today's wedding.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles.  We won a Bistro Dinner Voucher which was a bonus.  My chest infection was getting worse rather than better which was a nuisance.

Saturday 19th October 2013 we went to Bunnings so I could pick up some mulch for the wedding garden and also some more petunias and roses for my garden at home.  I also got a couple of Magnolia Trees for the Golf Club from Aldi.  Peter was playing in the golf championships and I spent some time over at the Wedding Garden getting it ready for today's Wedding.  There have been three weddings at the club this weekend - so busy, busy.

Sunday 20th October 2013 I got up early to plant in the new petunias and roses and gave the gardens a good water before we left for golf to play in the President Vs Captains Day.  The Presidents side wore blue shirts and the Captains side wore red shirts.  Peter played with the Lady Vice President so I played with Bert Brink, Annie Brink & Wally Robertson in an American Foursome.  We had a lot of fun - especially when we put each other in bad positions (see photos attached).  Bert & I played well enough to win a ball and we won for the Presidents Side.   After Golf we had dinner at the Club as the Bistro was open that night.

Monday 21st October 2013 we were up early for F-Troop with a lot of work to be done.  It was a hot day so we finished up after morning tea.  I was not feeling well at all with my chest infection deteriorating.  I made an appointment to see the Doctor so I can get some anti biotic. I could not get in until Wednesday so I will have to suffer out the next few days.

Tuesday 22nd October 2013 was Veterans Day at Golf and I played with Val Anderson.  It was a very hot day and I was regretting the decision to go ahead an play.  I was going to pull out but it would have left Val without a partner.  As it turned out we had a good day with Val playing very well and coming in Runner Up with 40 points.  I won $20 in the 100 club and also won the raffle - bottle of red wine and a $15 voucher so that was a bonus.  I was really feeling poorly by the time I got home and had an early night.

Wednesday 23rd October 2013 (today) I was up at 4.00am with a coughing fit so decided to stay up and do the ironing as I could not sleep.  I have been very sleep deprived this week and I am hanging out to get some anti biotic from the Doctor.  I gave the gardens a good deep water as we were in for another stinker of a day and then tried to have a rest until it was time for my appointment. I was lucky and got in to see the Doctor without  long wait at the surgery and he agreed that I needed something to kill off the infection.  My blood pressure was high but he felt that was because I was unwell.   I have now got my anti biotic so I am hopeful of a quick recovery.  The family will soon be home from their holidays so I will need to be back in fit condition for my little ones.

I am hoping that we will get some rain soon and some cooler weather.  I have been pouring water into the gardens everyday just to keep them going.  The roses are lovely this year.  When I can find some energy next week I will be able to finish off the back gardens ( three bags of mulch to go) and the gardens will be prepared for the hot summer months.
