Golf - Tuesday 4th September 2007

Today was a very special golf day at our club.

It was Invitation Day and "Chip in for breast cancer" day. It is always well supported and today we had a good role up in spite of the light showers and cold gusty winds. Today is the first time I have played all day in not one - but two long sleeved jackets and was still cold.

All our members were wearing the customary 'pink' shirts & ribbons respresenting breast cancer awareness. We raised a good lot of money for the cause & everyone had a great day. The event was a stableford team with two scores to count which made it a nice quick day.

My playing partners today were Fay Bailey (Gosford), Trish Melnik (Everglades) & Liz Stedman (Terrigal). We did have quite a few highlights on the day but did not combine at the right moment to maximize our score. It was a good day all the same & we enjoyed each others company. Good players out of luck I would say.
