Christmas is no longer creeping up - it is rushing up and once again I am caught disorganised.
Tuesday 4th December 2012 was the Ladies Annual Christmas Luncheon and Presentation Day. We started the day with drinks and nibbles in the lounge area of the clubhouse and then moved to the Sunset Room for the lunch and Presentation. We had a lovely luncheon and a good presentation. Surprise, Surprise I did win a Veteran's Trophy for Best Gross Score in Div 2 which left me in shock as I do not remember playing well enough in the last year to have won anything. I must have pulled a rabbit out of the hat on the vital scoring days. That was a bonus! We were entertained with a skit put on by some of the lady members and the club CEO which was a version of "Swan Lake" as you have never seen it before.
Wednesday 5th December 2012 I spent the day writing out some Christmas Cards, posting some, doing a bit of shopping and updating my travel blog a bit more. I am up to Washington now - so progress is slowly happening.
Thursday 6th December 2012 we went over to the golf club to work on the avenue of tibouchinas that needed to be weeded, fertilized and mulched. In the afternoon we played golf with Shane and managed to get to the 15th hole before time beat us.
Friday 7th December 2012 I had a busy day with a hair appointment at 10.00am for much needed hair cut and colour followed by lunch with my old Coopers & Lybrand workmates Loraine, Heather, Des, Margaret & Nancy. We had a nice lunch at Alexanders at Gosford and then I did a bit of shopping on the way home. That evening we went to the club for the raffles and badge draw. The evening was held downstairs because the clubhouse was booked out with functions. We won three of the raffles which included a Christmas Pork which was a good bonus.
Saturday 8th December 2012 we went to Bunnings early to beat the crowds as I wanted to pick up a few decorative items for the golf club gardens and ended up bringing home another rose and some petunias for my garden. In the afternoon I went over to the club to clean up for a garden wedding. It was very windy and was virtually raining leaves which mad it hard to have the area perfect.
Sunday 9th December 2012 we did not play golf as we had our bi-annual get together of the old Gosford Townies Group which this year was at Garry & Carolyn's house at Terrigal. In the morning I spent some time in the front gardens planting my new rose and weeding the gardens. At 12 o'clock we left to drive out to Terrigal. Up till then it had been very hot & sunny. By the time we arrived at Terrigal the sky had changed to grey with a wild cold blustery wind that persisted all afternoon. It was a shame as Garry & Carolyn's house is on the lake and it would have been beautiful to sit outside in good weather. We had a great afternoon catching up with everybody & enjoying some lovely food. Golf Presentation was over by the time we got home so we did not call into the clubhouse.
Monday 10th December 2012 (today) we woke up to showers which looked like they may clear so we went to F-Troop in anticipation that we would be able to do some work. The showers did not stop but we did manage to get some work done. I was soaking wet at morning tea time so we had an early day.
If the weather does not improve I may give golf a miss tomorrow and get some Christmas Shopping done. I am running out of days as I am planning to go to Newcastle with Anne on Wednesday morning and then I am having Joel for an overnighter and all day Thursday.
