Another busy week leading up to our Perth holiday. We have had such hot weather a very little rain up to yesterday that it has been hard work keeping the water & maintenance up to the gardens. It started raining in earnest yesterday, continued through the night and the most of today.
Tuesday 15th March 2011 it was Irish day for the Ladies Golf. We dressed appropriately in green & had a good fun day. My highlight was getting a really good shot out of the front lip of bunker and winning a ball on the day. My playing partner was Kath Payn & in our group was Rosalie Dyer & Yvonne Wilson. We had a very enjoyable day with no rain.
Wednesday 16th March 2011 I worked in the gardens at home. It was a very hot day but was able to get a lot of weeding done.
Thursday 17th March 2011 We worked on the gardens at the 13th tee of the golf club in the morning. In the afternoon I spent a couple of hours getting spoilt at the beauticians.
Friday 18th March 2011 we worked again at the golf club gardens this time watering the tibouchinas & the gardens on the 2nd fairway.
Saturday 19th March 2011 I looked after the household tasks while Peter went to golf & got wet. The rain settled in & rained all Saturday night.
Sunday 20th March 2011 (today) it was still pouring rain for most of the day so our planned golf day was cancelled as the course was closed. Rod, Anne, Joel & Shane came for breakfast. Shane's bowls were washed out also so he stayed until morning tea. Rod, Anne & Joel stayed for lunch & then we spent a leisurely afternoon getting ready for our Perth excursion. We are going out for dinner tonight at the local Thai Restaurant with Mark & Anne Stimpson so I am hoping the rain holds off while we are out.
It is good for the gardens that the rain has finally arrived as they were getting very dry. I am hoping for a bit more rain while we are away to keep the gardens happy.
