This week was more about gardening than golf. I put in four intensive days on my rose gardens trying to rejuvenate them after the hot summer months and prepare them for their autumn flush. It was a lot of work but hopefully it will pay off with lots of beautiful blooms in the months ahead.
Tuesday 1st March 2011 I played golf with Fay Bailey & Chris Dekker. We had a lovely day with some good highlights even though our end scores were not wonderful. My latest gadget arrived in the mail today - being a digital alcohol tester which will be very handy to use prior to attempting to drive.
Wednesday 2nd March 2011 I launched into the rose gardens at home starting on the front gardens & working right through to the back gardens. They were treated with blood & bone, slow release & rose fertilizer, seasol & sprayed for infections.
Thursday 3rd March 2011 it was more of the same.
Friday 4th March 2011 I did a bit of gardening out the back in the morning & then we went to the movies at Erina Fair in the afternoon to see "Conviction". We called into Medibank to review our cover & to organise some travel insurance in preparation for our upcoming Perth & Cairns holidays.
Saturday 5th March 2011 we did the household shopping and a trip to Bunnings for some bits & pieces. The rest of the day I spent in the rose gardens out the back.
Sunday 6th March 2011 Shane came over for breakfast & stayed until we went to golf at 10.30 am. Rod, Anne & Joel were camping at Patonga this weekend so we missed out on our "Joel hit".
We had an early start at golf - our playing partners today were Dick & Joyce Bosley & we had a great day. We did not win any prizes but enjoyed the day. The boys beat the girls for the keno ticket at the 3rd last hole which was not a highlight for us girls, but we did hold them out for most of the match. We stayed for dinner with Col & Lauren Matterson, Mark & Anne Stimpson, Kevin O'Brien & Lorraine Bignall and had an enjoyable evening. We road tested the alcohol tester machine before leaving the club. I imagine it would not be foolproof however it is a good guide which I think we will use regularly when needing to drive after a social occasion.
Monday 7th March 2011 (today) we were up early for F-Troop day. We had a good day & achieved quite a good bit of work on the course. It was a nice cool day to work so we continued on until 1.30 pm. When we got home we found a "lounge lizard" (Rod) in our lounge room. He was back from camping but had the day off work so he decided to have a morning on my computer & soak up some Foxtel.
It has been a very busy week, but productive. I hope this cooler weather lasts for tomorrow so I can have a comfortable day at golf.
