Monday 3rd May 2010

Another busy week has flashed by - having nice weather for the most of it has been good. We have had such mild weather for this time of the year.
Monday 26th April 2010 we had a big day at F-Troop where I did some hedge trimming & gardening. One of our new projects is to upgrade the bunker area at the 15th which we are doing with sand bags to control water flow. It was a busy day but worthwhile.
Tuesday 27th April 2010 we had the dreaded par match at golf. My playing partners were Dawn Cook and Georgina Lamb. We had a good day with Georgina coming the winner of her grade. I was happy with a square result.
Wednesday 28th April 2010 I was on babysitting duty from 6.30 am until 4.30pm. I had a lovely day with Joel and took him for a long walk around the East Gosford shops. Joel was really well behaved all day & is improving with his balancing skills. He walks the furniture quite well but has not got the confidence to let go.
Thursday 29th April 2010 we went to the movies at Erina Fair to see "Beneath Hill 60" which is a war movie about the Australians that fought in the first world war ( a true story) & had lunch while we were there.
Friday 30th April 2010 the day started out very bleakly with rain showers continuing right up till when we were due to play in a 12.30 pm shotgun start. Our playing partners on the day were Helen Stuart & Yvonne Cumming. We are not wet weather players but decided that because it was for the Pandora Charity Day then we should brave the elements. The day cleared as soon as we went out and ended up being a very pleasant day for golf. We stayed for presentation after the match and continued on at the club for the raffles and badge draw as Peter had been rostered on to work that night. It was a big day & evening but at least we did not get wet.
Saturday 1st May 2010 was a catch up day with shopping and around the house.
Sunday 2nd May 2010 Rod & Joel arrived at 7.00 am for breakfast so that we could have some time with Joel before going to golf. Anne was working so Rod was the official babysitter. We played in a fun day at golf which was a Texas Stableford - an event I have not played before. There was no handicapping as we all got to use the best drive on each hole before continuing on with our single stableford. Our playing partners were Wally & Rhonda Roberston and we had a good fun day. Later in the evening Graham, Anne, Stuart Michell (my cousin visiting from America) and his partner Sheila called into the club to have dinner with us while they were on their way back to Sydney after having a weekend at Graham's farm in the Hunter Valley. Mark & Anne Stimpson joined us for dinner & they ended back at our house for coffee at the end of the night.
It was good to catch up with Stuart & Sheila while they are in this corner of the world. We are hoping to catch up with them again during their hectic schedule and before they have to move on.
Monday 3rd May 2010 we had another busy day at F-Troop this time getting the sandbags down on the 15th bunker, planting a grove of olive trees at the 15th and planting a Bay tree at the 13th among other things. Peter is attending the Narara Wyoming Junior Cricket Presentation tonight where he is presenting the Martin Family Trophy which we do in memory of Greg.
We have had some beautiful weather and it looks like continuing into this next week which is good news.
