It was a full on week with not a lot of rest breaks. We have had mainly beautiful weather apart from a sudden downpour on Wednesday afternoon, so outside has been the place to be.
Tuesday 4th May 2010 I played golf at Gosford. My playing partners were Shane Anderson, Anne Cropley & Lea Southon. It was an enjoyable day to be out on the course although none of our scores were that wonderful we had a nice day.
Wednesday 5th May 2010 I had a morning Doctors appointment - not because I was sick but for the usual check up & flu injection. In the afternoon I had a hairdresser appointment for a cut & colour which is always a good pick me up. Luckily I was inside the hairdressers when the storm hit so I was saved from a drenching.
Thursday 6th May I was up at dawn & ready to leave at 6.00 am for a 7.00 am shotgun hit off at Wyong for their Open Day which raises money for breast cancer. My playing partners today were Shirley Daly, Lola Martin and Deanne Bailey & we all wore pink shirts for Breast Cancer Day. It was very chilly for the first couple of holes and then warmed up to a lovely day. We missed out on a ball in a countback so we had a really good day. My highlight was parring the hardest hole. The Wyong course is in lovely condition & it was a pleasure to play there.
Friday 7th May 2010 we had a grocery shopping day followed by an afternoon at Erina Shopping Centre for bits & pieces.
Saturday 8th May 2010 I had a huge day at the Golf Club starting at 6.30 am & working on the front gardens through until lunch time. We had lunch at the club & then came home to prepare to go out to the Narara Wyoming Cricket Club Presentation where we donate a trophy for the "Colt of the Year" in Greg's memory. We had a good night catching up with the other Life Members & also with Arthur Morris who is the Club Patron. Arthur was his usual cheery & amusing speaker & this year we had a special wine bottle labeled in his honour on the tables. During the day I could feel a virus coming on & by the end of the night I had lost my voice.
Sunday 9th May 2010 we had an early 7.00 am start with a Mother's Day breakfast at our house for Anne as it was her first Mothers Day. I was not able to give Joel a cuddle today as my voice was still gone & I was not feeling too well. Peter took Joel for a walk in the pram & was very proud of himself because he put him to sleep. Joel gave me a photo from his day school and Rod & Anne gave me a photo of Rod & Joel & some nice gift soap & shampoo. Shane called in with a beautiful bunch of Mothers Day flowers. At lunch time we left for golf and as it was such a nice day I did not want to miss out on golf even with my cold. Our playing partners were Bruce & Gwen White & we had a lovely day. Gwen & I beat the boys for a keno ticket & won a ball for our 35 points each. Shane & Sam met us at the Club for dinner which finished the day off nicely. My voice was gone completely by the end of the night.
Monday 10th May 2010 we had F-Troop day starting at 7.00am. We worked through to 1 o'clock on various jobs at the course mainly tidying up for a big ladies day of golf tomorrow when we are having an Open Day for 120 players. My hit off time is just after 8.00 am so I need to be up early in the morning. My cold has not improved & my voice is very scratchy so an early night tonight is required so I have some chance of a reasonable game tomorrow.
