We were very fortunate over Easter with the weather staying decent for most of the long weekend. We had some showers during the last five holes of golf on Easter Monday but apart from that the days were beautiful. We have had some more odd showers during the week - but mainly at night.
On Easter Sunday 4th April 2010 Rod was on babysitting duty as Anne was working so he brought Joel around so we could have some time with him. We have had a stroller in the garage waiting for him to be big enough to take walking so we had some fun with that. At 12 o'clock we played golf with Bert & Annie Brink & had a super day made all the better because I pulled the Easter Bunny out of the hat & won the Ladies Single Stableford with 39 points. We stayed for dinner at the club with Bert & Annie & a few other of our golfing friends.
Easter Monday 5th April 2010 we were back at golf again as the weather seemed to be okay in the morning. Late afternoon we did have some showers which meant we had to pull out the "good look" weather gear. Our playing partners were Mark & Anne Stimpson & we had a lovely day with them. Anne is recovering from an injury & just wanted to play a few holes to see how she coped as we are all off to the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria to play golf the following weekend. Peter & Mark played well & got some good birdies.
Tuesday 6th April 2010 I was back at golf (3rd day in a row) with the girls. My playing partners were Annette Cross, Jan Walker & Val Iseppi. Annette won her division & that was a good highlight as Annette was playing her first game of golf in the ladies competition. I had a good highlight at the par 3 5th hole when I put my drive just off the edge of the green & then putted into the hole for a birdie.
Wednesday 7th April 2010 started off with heavy overnight rain which continued until about 10 0'clock in the morning. When it started to clear up I went over to work in the golf club gardens until about 2 o'clock to catch up a bit as we did not have F-Troop over the Easter break.
Thursday 8th April 2010 I had a catch up at home as we are off to Victoria at the weekend.
In the afternoon we went to the Avoca Beach Theatre to see "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". I have read the trilogy of books associated with this film & really enjoyed them. We had lunch at The Point Cafe at Avoca Beach & watched all the holiday makers soaking up the sunshine. The movie was very good & stuck very closely to the storyline of the book. I was pleased that I made the effort to get there as the film will be closing soon & I may have missed it. We had to go to the golf club to collect the trailer which is specifically fitted to carry golf clubs so we can get our group to the airport on Saturday. Shane & Sam travelled to Bateman's Bay today to pick up a car they had bought so that Shane no longer has to depend on his motor bike to get to work. We were very happy with that decision as I am not a fan of motor bikes & worry every time he rides it as they are so vunerable on the roads especially in wet weather.
Friday 9th April 2010 (today) was a beautiful day. I spent most of the day getting myself organised for the weekend and had to make sure that my laptop was up & running properly so I can take it to Victoria with me. I was having problems with my photo software when I updated the program but luckily I managed to solve the problem without having to call on professional help. The day disappeared easily enough by the time I did some last minute shopping & so on. During the day various members of our group dropped off their golf clubs to go in the trailer. Rod called around to return some tools that he had borrowed. Shane & Sam called around to show off their new Nissan X-Trail that they bought yesterday. Sam has offered to do the airport run to Newcastle for us as their new car has a tow bar & is a much stronger car than the Hyundai for towing the trailer which will be heavy when loaded up with all the clubs. My bags are now packed & I am ready to go. Showers are predicted in Melbourne but we will not worry until such time as we are ready to play golf. All the group we are travelling with are keen "500" players so I will get another opportunity to sharpen my skills.
