Friday 13th November 2009

This week has been dedicated to gardening as I have had so much to catch up on. After playing golf on Sunday I decided to have a "golf free" week as I was not intending to play in the Brisbane Water week of golf as that would have meant three days of golf in a row in very hot weather - so gardening won.
Sunday 8th November we had a nice day at golf playing with Ray & Norma Presdee. The boys played well & won the keno ticket. The Keno ticket won us $120 so we were all happy & Peter got runner up at golf with a score of 42 points.
Monday 9th November was a big F-Troop day where we finished off the new garden at the 6th & I tidied up the gardens at the front of the club as we were hosting the 1st Division Ladies Brisbane Water Golf day on Tuesday.
Tuesday 10th November. I took some time out for shopping & had some fun at Bunnings picking up some summer petunias to replace the pansies that are just about at their end. They are still flowering so it will be hard to pull them out. At lunchtime I was at the Club to take photos of the Division 1 presentation. A few of our local girls played well and were prize winners.
Wednesday 11th November I had my first official babysit of Joel. Anne's mother is in hospital having a knee operation so my job was to mind Joel so that Anne could visit her mother at the ICU. In the Morning we (myself, Anne & Joel) went shopping to Erina Fair as Anne had spotted a High Chair that we needed for our house for when Joel visited. While there we had a look for Christmas Presents and had the mandatory morning coffee and lunch before coming home, loaded to the hilt with parcels for Christmas and a high chair. Joel slept for most of the time I was minding him ( I think we wore him out shopping). I got a suduko done, watched a movie & answered the phone to fill in time while I was waiting for Joel to wake up. I did get some cuddle time before Anne and Rod arrived home & Joel was quite happy - so I think I passed the test.
Thursday 12th November I did some banking & odd jobs in town, then spent a few hours at the golf gardens working on the garden at the 2nd. I had planted some tree ferns that were not doing well. A week or so ago I changed the soil but thought that they had died anyway. I was intending to take them out & replace them with bird nest ferns but the tree ferns had started to sprout new leaves - so the new soil had done the trick. I spent some time watering the gardens as it has been so hot. Late afternoon a storm came over & gave everything a good shower ( always the way when I spend time watering). We were going to have fish & chips on the waterfront for dinner as it had been such a hot day but the storm put a stop to that. So it ended up being fish & chips on our front covered verandah which is not quite the same thing.
Friday 13th November (today) I spent most of the day in my garden at home planting out the new petunias & finishing off the dreaded bouganvillea - once again filling three green bins in the process. In between gardening I watched the Masters Golf that is being played in Melbourne. A stress free day so that was good.
