Monday 9th December 2013

We had another mixed up week of weather ranging from very hot to cool with high winds and rain.

Thursday 28th November 2013 I played in the Thursday Christmas Closing Day at golf.  My playing partners were Lorraine Bignall and Elly Van Den Berg.  It was a nice sunny day and we played well as team - not too far off winning a prize.

Friday 29th November 2013 It was fine in the early morning but rain built up as the morning progressed.  I went over to the club to prepare the Wedding Garden for a late afternoon wedding.  The rain poured down in the afternoon and the wedding had to be held on the club balcony.  That evening we went to the club for dinner and the raffles and we won a meat tray.

Saturday 30th November 2013 I was back over to the club to prepare the Wedding Garden for a late afternoon Wedding.  Fortunately the weather held and the wedding went ahead in the garden,  I was home by lunch time as Rod & Anne were coming over in the afternoon with Joel and Emily to stay for dinner.
I took Joel and Emily for a walk to the trains that they love to do which gave Anne a chance for a rest.

Sunday 1st December 2013 We went to the Woy Woy Hotel for lunch for the Gosford Townies reunion.
We caught up with a lot of our old friends from the footy days and had an enjoyable afternoon.

Monday 2nd December 2013 We were up early for F-Troop and worked through until lunchtime. We had a quiet afternoon catching up from a big weekend.

Tuesday 3rd December 2013 I went to the Ladies Christmas Luncheon and Presentation at the Golf Club.  I was not up for any prizes but I did win one of the Christmas Raffles.  We had a nice afternoon with the ladies entertaining us with a skit at the end of the afternoon. Peter spent the day putting together Emily's Doll House (her Christmas present) with Shane's help later in the day.

Wednesday 4th December 2013 I was up very early to have breakfast with Anne before we went to Sydney for the day to do some shopping and to see "Grease".  We had a lovely day - picked up some Christmas presents and enjoyed the show.  When we got home Anne and I went out to Erina Fair to get a few more Christmas Presents.

Thursday 5th December 2013 Peter had organised to go to the Club to help to erect a marquee downstairs for the Friday Night Raffles and took me along to help.  They worked on it all morning and finally had it up and looking good.  That afternoon we had very high winds which unfortunately brought the marquee down after all the good work.

Friday 6th December 2013 Peter was over at the club early to fix up the marquee. I had an early Doctors appointment so arrived back just in time to see it all up again.  That afternoon our bathroom tilers finally turned up to finish replacing to wall tiles so the walls looks much better now. That evening we called into the club for the wine tasting before going on to Alexanders for dinner with my old work mates. We had a good night catching up.

Saturday 7th December 2013 we did the household shopping before Peter went to golf.  I did some dead heading of the roses at home and made a quick trip to the Golf Club to do some watering before Rod & Anne brought Joel and Emily over for the afternoon and stayed for dinner.  I took Joel and Emily to the railway station for a look at the trains and the mandatory ice block from the shop.  They both helped me to decorate the Christmas Tree and put up the Christmas Train.  We had a trial run of making a fruit Christmas Tree that I want to do for Christmas Day.

Sunday 8th December 2013 We played golf in the Christmas Gala Day.  Our playing partners were Keith and Helen Potter and we had a lovely day.  We had some good highlights with Helen coming in Runner Up on the day.  We stayed for dinner at the Club Bistro with Keith & Helen and a few of our golf friends.

Monday 9th December 2013 (today) we were up early for F-Troop.  It was a very hot day so we finished up by midday.  In the afternoon I cut some roses to take out to my hairdresser and had my hair cut and coloured.  Our tiler returned today to finish the grouting on the bathroom walls so it is all finished and ready for Christmas.

I am not planning to play golf tomorrow as the weather is going to be hot again and I have got a lot of Christmas preparation work to do.  We are having Open House all day so people will be coming and going so we need to graze all day.  Menu planning to do, Christmas cards to do, house to clean and so it goes on in the silly season.
