Thursday 4th October 2012

Wednesday 3rd October 2012 we had a city tour of Toronto showing us all the city historical sites including the CN Tower.  That evening we had dinner on top of the CN Tower which had a revolving restaurant.  The weather was a bit foggy but the view improved later in the night and we had a good city overview while having dinner.

Thursday 4th October 2012 The weather improved to great which was wonderful for our visit to Niagara Falls.  I had a helicopter ride over the Niagara Falls which was awesome  Meanwhile Peter, Lauren & Col went to view the whirlpool &Peter took some photos for me there. We had a good look at the falls and a ride on the "Maid of the Mist"which was a great experience.  We also took a walk down behind the falls which was another good experience viewing the falls from a different perspective.  That evening we had dinner at a restaurant overlooking the falls and after dinner visited the control room which lights up the falls at night and we were able to choose the colours that change frequently.  It would have liked another day at Niagara Falls as there were a lot of optional walks that we did not have time to do/ 

Tuesday 2nd October 2012

Between Ottawa and Toronto we had the most spectacular Autumn Foliage.  The weather improved to cold and overcast with a chilly wind.

Monday 1st October 2012 we travelled from Montreal to Ottawa and spent one night in Ottawa.  We had a city tour of Ottawa before going out to dinner.

Tuesday 2nd October 2012 we travelled to Toronto via Kingston  On our way we travelled through some of the fantastic parks including Gatineau Park that were at their best show for the autumn foliage.

Quebec and Montreal was where we hit our "bad weather"patch.  It was showering on and off, very cold and windy.  Our city tour of Montreal was spoiled by very heavy rain so we just got a very quick glance out of the bus windows - see last two photos. 

Saturday 29th September 2012 we had a full day in Quebec and explored the old city and harbour area.  The Queen Mary was berthed in the harbour at the same time we were there.  That evening we went to visit the Montmerency Falls which were spectacular and the autumn foliage was beautiful.

Sunday 30th September 2012 we travelled from Quebec to Montreal again with bad weather.  The Notre Dame Basilica alone was worth the visit to Montreal. It was beautiful.  We had a few hours to walk around the city but the wet weather kept us indoors so we did not get to see much.We only had a one night stop at Montreal and then headed off to Ottawa so we did not really have much appreciation of Montreal mainly due to the bad weather.
