Thursday 1st September 2011

Wednesday 31st August 2011 was a very busy day.  Firstly I planted out some summer Petunias in the side gardens & mulched them ready for the hotter months.  After that I spent the rest of the day at the Golf Club trimming back & cleaning out some groundcover plants.  It was a big job but looked much better when the work was done.  It was Dad's birthday today so a toast to his memory over dinner.

Thursday 1 September 2011 we had a day in Sydney as we had to take our passports down to the travel agents in George Street.  We took the easy option and travelled by train which easily got us to the centre of town via Town Hall.  Everything was walking distance from there.  Once we had finished with the travel agent we made our way through QVB with a stop for coffee.  We went through to David Jones where there was a flower show of huge proportions.  The flowers were magnificent and far too many to photograph them all.  The orchids were fabulous & the displays very well done.  After a bit of shopping we made our way via the train & tram to Dixon Street for a Chinese lunch & a nice bottle of wine before making our way home before the work and school traffic.  It was a nice pleasant way to wile away a day.
