Autumn chills have arrived and the winter woolies are coming out. We have had mixed weather during the days but it is much cooler at night.
Wednesday 4th May 2011 We set the day aside for the first of Peter's eye operations at North Gosford Private Hospital. It was only day surgery so most of the day was just waiting around.
The operation was successful and I picked Peter up at 4.30pm with one eye patched up but he was feeling fine.
Thursday 5th May 2011 we had a quiet day at home with a visit to the eye specialist in the afternoon to check that all was well.
Friday 6th May 2011 we had a big day at the Golf Club having volunteered our time to help with the BBQ on the Pandora Charity Golf Day for 120 golfers. It was a very successful day with a good amount of money raised for the charity.
Saturday 7th May 2011 we did some shopping and a quick trip to Bunnings to get some more Begonias & rose sprays for my garden. While Peter was at golf I planted out the begonias & potted some more lavenders that I am trying to strike for the golf club gardens.
Sunday 8th May 2011 (Mother's Day) I had a sleep in as all the kids were meeting us at the Golf Club for dinner after golf. We had a nice day at Golf with our playing partners Duncan & Rosie Dyer. The boys beat us for the keno ticket but Duncan won the day in the Men's Competition so that was a good highlight. Rod, Anne & Joel were the first to arrive with Shane & Sam soon after. We all had dinner together with Mark & Anne Stimpson & their daughter Louise and Lorraine Bignall and Kevin O'brien some of our fellow golfers. Joel gave me a pink "Duck" ; Rod & Anne - a lovely travel book; Shane & Sam - a pair of battery operated secuters for my garden.
I was very spoilt for the day.
Monday 9th May 2011 was F-Troop Day starting at 7.00am. We had a full mornings work at the club before rushing home to get ready for a debriefing luncheon from our WA holiday at Alice's lovely home at Greenpoint. Col & Lauren picked us up and we met up with Mark & Anne and Col & Alice for a BBQ lunch out in Alice's garden which was lovely. It was a bit of a windy day and winter's chill had set in so we moved indoors & enjoyed a good catch up.
Tuesday 10th May 2011 (today) was my golf day. We had rain overnight so I was reluctant to play in the wet. The weather cleared but the morning chill stayed. I decided to brave it and the day turned out to be okay once the wind died down a bit. My playing partners today were Pauline Norman & Felicity Mead. We did not play wonderful golf but had a very nice day anyway. It was a stroke event which is always difficult but I did have some highlights the best of which was having only one putt on each of the first four holes.
The nights are getting colder so I might make a late start to my day tomorrow.
