Tuesday 31st May 2011

This week has been a very mixed bag of weather with the last couple of days being very wet.

Tuesday 24th May 2011 we had a nice cool day for golf - cloud cover but no rain to ruin the day.  My playing partners were Michele Kennett and Julie Hazzard and we had a very pleasant day on the village green.  I had 35 points which was a great score for me the way I have been playing lately.  Tuesday evening Col Matterson came over for dinner as Lauren was in Sydney.  We had a very nice evening solving the world's problems over a few glasses of wine and it ended up an äfter midnight"session.

Wednesday 25th May 2011 I had to be up early to catch a train to Sydney to give me enough time for some shopping therapy before going to the Capitol Theatre to see "Mary"Poppins".  I had a gift voucher to spend at DJ's so I spent the morning in my usual shopping stomping grounds & purchased a nice new handbag which I was happy with.  Considering I was not feeling 100% after such a late night the shopping was a bit of an effort.  I had a nice lunch at my favourite coffee shop at the QVB and made my way to the Capitol Theatre to see Mary Poppins which I had been looking forward to.  I had arranged to meet my fellow theatre goers inside the theatre so I called into the Ïrish Pub"for a refreshing ale "which worked remarkably well as a wine was out of the question.  I loved the show &  enjoyed every aspect including the song & dance and the staging.  After the show I travelled home on the train with the other girls from the Golf Club.

Thursday 26th May 2011 was a nice quite recovery day.I went to the Narara Nursery to check out their specials and purchased a couple of advanced cascade lilly pillies to replace some that had died in the summer heat on the 13th garden at the golf club.  We checked out this weeks Aldi specials & bought some king size sheets that were at a good price.

Friday 27th May 2011 we visited the Narara Nursery again this time to purchase some camellias to replace some of the struggling plants at the golf club.  We went to the Golf Course & planted out the new plants & got them watered in before I went into Gosford to meet my friends Heather & Lorraine for our regular once a month luncheon catch up.

Saturday 28th May 2011 we had our household shopping & morning coffe stop.  Peter went to watch the boys play in the golf knock out event so I tidied up around home while I waited for Joel to arrive for an overnight babysit.  Rod & Anne dropped Joel off about 4.00pm while they went out to a friends place.  Joel was really well behaved & I loved having him overnight.  He is very easy to entertain & was good overnight.

Sunday 29th May 2011 we had to play in the Dictrict Mixed Foursomes which was a big event.  Rod & Anne picked Joel up at 9.00am & we went to gold for a 9.24 hitt off.  Our playing partners for the day were Richard & Leonie Casey (Gosford) and Steve & Gillian Mitchell (Morisset) and we had a great day.  We had a couple of holes where it rained enough for the rain gear to come out but the heaviest rain did not start until late afternoon after we had finished.  Peter & I did well enough to win a ball which was a good highlight.

Monday 30th May 2011 the rain had tumbled down overnight with inches of rain.  We decided to go over to F-Troop in the hope that it would stop raining long enough to get some jobs done.  The F-Troopers cut up some old carpet that I could use as weed matting in the gardens & it sopped raining long enough to get that down but not long enough to get all the mulch on.  We worked until morning tea & then the rain really started to pur down.  In the afternoon we went to Mark & Anne Stimpson's for a late BBQ lunch.  Fortunately they have a covered veranda at their unit.  We had lunch with our WA travel group - Alice Diamond, Col Kelly, Col & Lauren Matterson & did some planning for next year's golf tour.

Tuesday 31st May 2011 was a totally wet day.  The golf was washed out & the course was under deluge.
I spent a quite day at home not at all interested in braving the outside weather.

Peter is due to go to hospital tomorrow for his second eye operation so I hope the weather is kinder.

Monday 23rd May 2011

This week was all about Joel's second birthday celebration.  We have had some good weather all through the week with just a few overnight showers.

Wednesday 18th May 2011 I spent the day working on the golf club gardens.

Thursday 19th May 2011 - Joel's birthday - we spent the morning finishing off some jobs at the golf club.  We went over to Anne & Rod's in the afternoon to celebrate Joel's birthday with Ron & Rae (Grandpa & Grandma), Shane & Sam & Anne's Aunty Gayle.  Joel had a wonderful day with close family & friends & enjoyed all of his presents - especially the big dump truck from Aunty Sam & Uncle Shane.  We gave him his quilt cover set for his new "Big boy's" bed, sheets, towels etc & of course another car.  He has heaps of cars but loves them all.

Friday 20th May 2011 - we had  a Doctors appointment for Peter to see about his new eye operation due on the 1st June and I had a Dentist appointment to check out a chipped tooth.  Both reports were good with no dramas - my tooth did not require any major work thank heavens.  I had a recovery day for the rest of the day.

Saturday 21st May 2011 we had our traditional shopping morning with a coffee stop after.  Peter went to golf in the afternoon & I did some more gardening at the club. There was an afternoon garden wedding to prepare for so it was a busy few hours.  The day was beautiful & the gardens looked lovely for the wedding.

Sunday 22nd May 2011 we went over to Rod & Anne's before going to golf so we could have some play time with Joel.  Anne is 33 weeks now & has finished work & needs to rest up for the new baby's arrival so it easier if we go over there.  Our golf playing partners were Doug & Robin Incoll & we had a lovely day in perfect weather.  Peter played well & came in runner up with 41 points.  My highlight was winning a ball & played well enough to loose a stroke off my handicap.   We stayed for dinner at the club with Lorraine & Bignall & Kevin O'Brien some fellow golfers at the club.

Monday 23rd May 2011 we had a good day at F-Troop.  There was a vet's competition on at the club so we had to find jobs that were not out on the busy course.  We spent the morning cleaning up the front fence line of the club that had got overgrown and untidy.  We had rain overnight so watering was not required.
I had a recovery afternoon at home & resting up for golf tomorrow.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is showers - so I hope that means after golf.

Tuesday 17th May 2011

This week was very busy. Luckily some good weather has made the week a lot easier.

Wednesday 11th May 2011 Peter was at meetings and golf all day so I had a "me" day, visiting the hairdresser for a cut & colour and the beauty salon for a manicure and pedicure, eyebrows etc. A nice relaxing day.

Thursday 12th May 2011 was not so relaxing having a full day at the golf club cleaning up the front of the clubhouse & doing some hedging.

Friday 13th May 2011 I had a shopping day with Anne & Joel. We had a lovely day & purchased a new pram that can accommodate the new baby as well as Joel.
We had morning tea & lunch between shopping excursions spoiling Joel with some new clothes etc. Anne was not at all well suffering from a heavy chest cold so we headed home after lunch so Anne could get some much needed rest.

Saturday 14th May 2011 I was back at the Golf Club to prepare the wedding garden area for an afternoon wedding. It was a beautiful day & I enjoyed being out in the sunshine.

Saturday night we attended the Narara/Wyoming Cricket Presentation where Peter presents a trophy for "The Colt of the Year" in memory of Greg. We caught up with all the other life members which was good.

Sunday 15th May 2011 we had breakfast at Rod & Anne's place & enjoyed playing with Joel for a few hours before going to golf. It was a nice day so we could play out in the yard in the sunshine. We left for golf about 11 o'clock. Our playing partners were Jay & Alex Palasty - a father & son combination. Alex was learning to play golf so it was a good experience for him. Our scores were very ordinary but it was lovely out in the sunshine. We stayed for dinner at the club to finish off the day.

Monday 16th May 2011 we were at F-Troop by 7.15am for a big day of work. Again it was a lovely weather day so we got some good jobs done. Peter went to the Junior Cricket Presentation night to present the "Martin Family Trophy". The Eye Doctor's surgery rang to say that Peter's second eye operation can be done on the 1st of June which is good news.

Tuesday 17th May 2011 was a full on day with a special Open Day at Golf where we have visiting clubs. I played with three girls from the Branxton Golf Club playing in a team stableford event. We had a lovely day in perfect weather & won a ball each which was a good highlight. We had 157 players so it was a big day.

Hopefully this beautiful weather continues for the rest of the week.
