We have had another week of perfect weather for our holidays in WA.
Wednesday 30th March 2011 the boys played golf at Albany Golf Course while Anne & I had some R & R and met them at the golf club after golf.
Thursday 31st March 2011 we made our way to the Margaret River region of Bunker Bay via Denmark, visiting the chocolate factory and the Tingle Forest tree walk. We enjoyed the run through although the area is extremely dry as there has not been any decent rainfall for 3 months. We arrived at Bunker Bay which is at the very top of the Margaret River region and our accommodation was very nice. We had huge units each with one of the biggest bathrooms I have ever seen. The main facilities were not too far from our rooms and we could walk to the beach quite easily. We decided that we would not eat at the facilities that night and went into the closest town of Dunsborough for dinner on the recommendation of the hotel. The restaurant that was recommended was the "Food Farmacy"which turned out to be not our style at all & cost a fortune.
Friday 1st April 2011 we played golf at Dunsborough Golf Course which we enjoyed. We had some drinks at the golf course after golf & then went back to Bunker Bay to have dinner at the resort which was a good day. On the way back from golf we raced to the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse area where I managed to get some good photos of the setting sun.
Saturday 2nd April 2011 we got up early & went down to the beach for an early morning dip in the Indian Ocean which was on Mark's bucket list. At mid morning we joined a wine tour which took us to five different boutique wineries for wine tasting, lunch at a brewery, an olive oil and soap shop and a chocolate factory. We had a lovely day in perfect weather.
Sunday 3rd April 2011 we made our way back to Perth via Bunbury. We made good time and reached our hotel in Perth in good time to check in. Our hotel was very central to Perth City & we had parking facilities at the hotel which was convenient. We met up with Col & Alice who had been doing their own touring program. We had dinner that night at the hotel.
Monday 4th April 2011 we had a touring day in Perth starting with a ferry ride to Fremantle, a bus tour of Fremantle, a train trip back to Perth, a bus trip around Perth, drinks at the wharf when our tour was finished, picked up our car & drove up to Kings Park which was a really lovely day - again in perfest weather. That night we joined up again with Col and Alice and had dinner and an evening at the Perth Casino.
Tuesday 5th April 2011 we played golf at Joondalup Golf Course which was our favourite course of the holiday. It is a very challenging, but very enjoyable course and we all had a good day. We called into Hiliary's Boat Harbour at Joondalup on the way home and stayed for dinner there to finish off the day.
