Saturday 9th April 2011

We have had another lovely week in Perth enjoying perfect weather.

Wednesday 6th April 2011 we played golf at the Vines Resort playing the Ellenbrook course which we all enjoyed. I was not well the last time we were at The Vines so I did get to appreciate it this time.

Thursday 7th April 2011 we had a touring day - checking out the WACA cricket ground and museum. We had an old character, Frank Allen, who was a cricket tragic and he showed us around the ground and the museum and made sure we did not miss a thing. Then we went to the Royal Mint in Perth City & checked out all the gold we had the opportunity to buy, however we showed great resistance to temptation. Then we checked out the East Perth Railway station where we are to catch the train next Sunday. That night we went to Fremantle Sailing Club for dinner and met up with one of Mark's school friends - Ray Moir and his wife Christine & we had a lovely night. During the day we had our first experience of the Fremantle Doctor which blew in while we were on our tour of the WACA and the temperature dropped 10 degrees in seconds.

Friday 8th April, 2011 we were booked to play golf at Mount Lawley at mid day. In the morning we went to the Royal Fremantle Golf Course to check it out. We had a great day at Mount Lawley - again a nice weather day. We met up with Ritchie Ball who is the local Pro at Mt Lawley & he organised the game for us because it was a private golf course.

Saturday 9th April 2011 we had a nice R & R day to finish off our Perth experience. We decided that fish & chips at Kings Park would be appropriate as we had some bottles of wine to finish off before we leave. It took us two hours to track down a fish & chip shop and eventually found one at Mt. Lawley. The park was beautiful and it was not hard to spend a few hours there. We went to the Irish Pub for dinner and watched the football there.

Our week in Perth was excellent and we all had a wonderful time.
