I have not been feeling 100% this week being a bit off colour for some reason. A lot of good things happened during the week to cheer me up so the time went very quickly.
Tuesday 5th October 2010 I played golf - not all that well but I had good company with Lesley Gregory & Julie Hazzard. The day started off showery but cleared to a nice hot day. My highlight of the day was winning nearest the pin on the 14th.
Wednesday 6th October 2010 I had a slow start to the day- not feeling all that good but was able to get a hair appointment so I felt better after a cut & colour to cheer me up.
Thursday 7th October 2010 was Anne's Birthday. I had promised Anne that I would take her to lunch & shopping forgetting completely that we had arranged a couple of days golf at Riverside Oaks Golf Resort with our golf friends. I hastily had to take a rain check with Anne for the following week. Rod & Anne called in for morning tea so we could see Anne for her birthday before leaving for golf. Two of my golfing friends Wendy Stapleton & Rosie Judd wanted to celebrate their 60th birthdays in a special way - so twelve of us rented villas at Riverside Oaks Golf Resort for Thursday night. We had a wonderful time there playing nine holes on Thursday & 18 holes on Friday before returning home. We travelled to Riverside Oaks (which is out Dural way about an hour and a half from Gosford) with Wally & Fay Bailey. The Villas were fantastic accommodation - real luxury with each couple having their own bedroom and ensuite downstairs and a huge living room upstairs so we were very impressed and it was good quality value for money. As part of the deal we were supplied with BBQ food which we cooked ourselves out on the balcony. We had a good night with good company.
Friday 8th October 2010 We had breakfast at the Riverside Oaks clubhouse which was also included in the deal & then played 18 holes of golf before returning home. We were home by 5.30pm which was good travelling.
Saturday 9th October 2010 we had some household shopping to do & then I went over to the golf club to tidy up the wedding garden for a wedding that was scheduled for tomorrow. After that I was home to tidy the house & prepare a Mum's Lamb Roast Dinner as we were having Mark & Anne Stimpson over for dinner. Peter & Mark both played in the Club Championships which did not finish until late so we didn't get started until 7.30m. It had been raining on and off all day which has been a nuisance even though the gardens are loving it. Unfortunately a lot of the roses that are out blooming have been rain spoilt.
Sunday 10th October 2010 Peter was playing in the Championships (2nd round) and had an early 8.00am start. I spent the day trimming the ivy and the hedges at the front of the house. I managed to fill a green bin easily enough. With all this rain everything is madly growing. At 2.00pm I went over to the club to check that the wedding garden was presentable & met Peter for a drink after the match. We went back to the club again at 6 o'clock for the presentation so I could get photos and the results to do the golf blog.
Monday 11th October 2010 (Today) was F-Troop day & we were over at the club at 7.00am. It was showering on and off all morning but we managed to get a lot of jobs done. The Pro Am is on this Thursday so we needed to get everything as ship shape as possible for that. We finished at mid day and I came home to clean up & then go into Gosford to pick up my new pendant that I have had made by a local jeweller which is a copy of Greg's neclace that was stolen from me two years ago. Fortunately the jeweller still had the template design so they managed to get it very close to the original - so I am now feeling complete again. The weather has been very unsettled all of this week and I believe the forecast is for more of the same. I am playing golf tomorrow and rain is not on my agenda.
