I had a rather weird week - a bit of a shambles from my usual regulated week of activities.
After writing up the blog last Monday 31st May 2010 I started to feel a little unwell & went to bed early only to be up every hour from 11 o'clock onwards being violently sick that felt very much like food poisoning.
Tuesday 1st June 2010 was a non event for me - spending the whole day in my sick bed only getting up long enough to do the golfers daily blog. That was the 3rd Tuesday of golf I have had to miss through sickness and bad weather.
Wednesday 2nd June 2010 was a quiet recovery day at home when I spent a lot of time gathering 150 or so photos of the golfing ladies from my last three years archives. I still was not feeling fantastic so I did not burn up a lot of energy that day - in fact I lost 1/2 stone in weight in recovery. Shane called around in the afternoon to say he was going on a fishing weekend with Len to Crescent Heads which is where all the heavy weather was predicted. Not a good time for fishing I would think. I have not got a report back on the fishing results.
Thursday 3rd June 2010 we had another F-Troop painting day at the Golf Club when we gave the outdoor furniture another coat of paint to finish it off. We did a bit of shopping in the afternoon but with little enthusiasm and the rain showers were continuing & turned into heavy rain overnight. Dale sent me an email to say that Bec's movie "Animal Kingdom" (Bec was Executive Producer) was opening this weekend and that we should try to see it. I emailed Bec to tell her we would try to get to see it & tell all our friends - but unfortunately the movie was only opening in the city & was not on the Central Coast until later. My beloved camera refused to work during the morning of work at the golf club which put me into panic mode. I cannot survive without a camera.
Friday 4th June 2010 was a miserable day & it poured rain for much of the day. The golf course was closed. We ventured out for a bit of shopping but it was such a bad day that a bit of Foxtel & a comfortable lounge seemed to be the order of the day. A pity Bec's movie was not open - we had the perfect opportunity with all the wet weather this week. I took my camera out to the "Camera House" for them to look at to see what damage I had done to it. It was a huge relief to find that it was only a small spec of dirt that had got caught up in the lens mechanics & that was quickly fixed at no cost - so that was great news.
Saturday 5th June 2010 we spent the morning on household shopping and the afternoon at the golf club where I spent some time tidying up some of the gardens. Saturday night I finished up the golf lady photos & copied them to a flash drive to pass on to the girl that is going to put the collage together.
Sunday 6th June 2010 Rod, Anne & Joel came for early breakfast so we had some quality time with them before going to golf at about 11 o'clock . Our playing partners today were Col & Kay Adams. The day started out well with some nice sunshine & a little breeze to dry the course out. There was a tee-up rule in place to preserve the condition of the course & all of the bunkers were out of play as they were full of water - so today we were not handicapped. Just as well as I did not have my best day having it very wet underfoot & then at the 14th hole the threatening storm became a reality & we got soaking wet the last four holes. You know how much I hate wet weather golf. Col, Kay & Peter all played well so our team score was not too bad with not much help from me. Col & Kay were good company & we stayed at the club after golf & had dinner with them to finish the day off.
Monday 7th June 2010 was a bit of a slow start for F-Troop but we finally got going about 7.30 am & got some good gardening work done over at the front entrance. The course was too wet for us to take heavy machinery, carts or cars out on the course so we had to confine ourselves to areas close to the clubhouse. As you can see by some of the photos above that we have had a huge amount of rain through the week & the course is water logged.
Tomorrow's scheduled golf event had been postponed & been replaced with a single stableford which will probably be tee-up again in which case I may well miss my 4th Tuesday golf in a row. "Not Happy Jan"
