Well our holiday has come to a close. We have been very lucky with the weather overall as the days have not been bad and the heavier rain mostly at night.
We have managed some good hours at the beach working on our tans & the water has been a lovely temperature even though the surf has been a bit rough for prolonged swimming.
Thursday 4th February 2010 was Garry & Carolyn's 43rd wedding anniversary so we celebrated with a few drinks and dinner at the"Beach Hotel" on the waterfront at Byron Bay on Thursday night.
Today (Friday 5th February 2010) We had another return challenge golf match at Byron Bay golf club today between us girls (Glennis & I) and the boys. Glennis & I got to wear our new golf gear that we purchased at the Gold Coast on Tuesday. We thought that would have given us a good advantage on the day. The boys had us beaten at the 17th hole so we challenged them with an all or nothing keno ticket on the last hole and we beat them - so that made our day.
The day was nice enough to have a late afternoon at the beach to catch the last of the sun.
Tonight we had a farewell to Byron Bay dinner at the "Fresh"restaurant in Byron Bay which was a good choice as the food was lovely and we had a great position at sidewalk tables where we could watch the atmosphere of a typical Byron Bay evening unfolding. It was a beautiful warm evening which made outdoor eating very pleasant. We have not had to endure any bad behaviour either on the beach or in the town from any of the other tourists or locals.
I understand that we have wet weather at Gosford with more to come so I am not looking forward to travel in the rain so we are hoping for a reprieve in the weather until we get home.
