Thursday 10th September 2009

It has been a very busy week one way or another. We have had lovely spring weather so it has been a good opportunity to get some outside work done.
Sunday 6th September was Father's Day. Shane & Peter had some fun with the "weed extractor" father's day gift Shane brought over before we went to golf. Rod & Anne were still holidaying in Queensland so we didn't get to see them but had some texts.
I had a great day at golf playing one of my better games & winning the Ladies Singles Event. That meant that I lost another two strokes off my handicap -making a total of 5 shots that I have lost in a week. outch!!!! The upside being that I have scraped back into A Grade abeit for a brief amount of time. Our playing partners were John & Julie Hazard who are great company so we had a good day.
Monday 7th September was F-Troop Day & I got to plant all the new native & grevillea plants that I had purchased last week in the native garden on the 6th. The garden will look sensational in about 2 years when the plants have matured.
Tuesday 8th September was my first day back in A Grade and of course it had to be a Par Event. I wiped the first 3 holes & then settled down & finished up with minus 4 at the end which was not too bad as my back nine was almost square. My playing partners were Carmen Fitzgerald and Pam Cowin and they both had good games. I won a fruit tray in the raffle which gave me another good highlight.
Wednesday 9th September I spent the day at the golf course starting work on a new succulent garden at the 3rd tee. I have a lot of work to do there as I am starting this garden from scratch.
Thursday 9th September (today) I went to Kurri Kurri with the golf girls to participate in an open day celebrating 50 years anniversary of their Legacy day of golf. We were asked to wear gold to acknowledge the special day so we wore sparkly gold hats, bow ties and "Dame Edna" gold sparkly glasses. My team won the best dressed prize and narrowly missed a place in the team event which was an Ambrose. My playing partners were Lesley Gregory, Sue Hutton and Marianne Lanham & we had a good fun day. The course was quite challenging in parts but good to play.
