Monday 20th October 2008

My poor garden is so sadly neglected lately it is basically growing by itself. Lucky we have had a lot of natural rainfall lately so the roses are reacting to that. We have had a couple of big electrical storms - one on Sunday night when a tree was hit & split at the golf club and last night when we got a downfall of hail and a fair bit of rain.
The morning was spent at the golf course cleaning up after Sunday's storm & removing a dangerous tree that had been struck by lightning the night before. We did a lot of raking up among other things and finished about lunch time.
Lyn & Richard had spent the previous night with Graham & Anne at Sydney & they arrived home at lunch time too. Lyn & I spent the afternoon browsing & shopping at Erina Fair. Peter & Richard had a round of golf. We met them at the Golf Club after their game for a "Happy Hour" then came home for a quiet dinner.
I made contact with our travellers in Beijing and everything seemed to be happening to schedule so all going well they will be in Sydney by 9.30 am tomorrow. That will be one worry out of the way.
Images attahed: My front garden looking colourful in spite of the neglect; the split tree at the golf club and areas that were cleaned up; Richard, Lyn & Pete at "Happy Hour".
