Thursday 29th May 2014

The last couple of weeks we have enjoyed just the best autumn weather - perfect for outdoor activities.

Sunday 18th May 2014 we enjoyed celebrating Joel's 5th Birthday at the Impact Play Centre at Erina.  Joel had about 20 friends to celebrate with him and it was just the perfect place for them to run themselves ragged.  There was a little cafe serving drinks, coffee and assorted food for the adults and plenty of sitting room to be comfortable while the children were in the play area.  Joel had the best time and so did Emily.  Little Grace did not know a lot about it but she got plenty of cuddles.  Shane's Danielle made the birthday cake featuring Joel's favourites - The Octonauts.  It was a beautiful cake made with great skill.

Monday 19th May 2014 (Joel's actual birthday) we were up early for F-Troop and worked until lunch time. We had a good day with some good help in the gardens.  After Joel came home from Kindy we went over to Rod & Anne's to have some more birthday cake and to blow out the traditional five candles with the rest of the family.

Tuesday 20th May 2014 I played golf.  My playing partners were Doon Delaney and Alice Collett.  We had a lovely day enjoying beautiful weather.

Wednesday 21st May 2014 I did some good work on the Golf Club Gardens cleaning out the weeds and rubbish from the Front Street Gardens.

Thursday 22nd May 2014 we had a lazy morning and then enjoyed a BBQ lunch at Col's new unit at East Gosford.  We chatted away the afternoon in the lovely patio setting with Col, Alice, Col, Lauren, Mark, Anne, Rosalie and Duncan.  No better way to spend an autumn afternoon.

Friday 23rd May 2014 I trimmed the ornamental fig vine growing up a pole at our front driveway. It was dangerous balancing at the top of the ladder but the job got done without mishap.
That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner, raffles and the badge draw.  The club held a Trivia Night/Wine Tasting and Graham & Anne came up from Turramurra for dinner to help out our team. Our highlight was one of our team members won a large jar of lollies in the raffle.

Saturday 24th May 2014 we did the household shopping and I finished off the hedging at home while Peter went to golf.

Sunday 25th May 2014 we played golf at 11 o'clock with Ron & Lynn Puiatti.  We had an enjoyable day on the course but the boys beat us for the keno ticket.  Peter won nearest the pin which was a good highlight. After golf we went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with Mark, Anne, Lorraine & Kevin.

Monday 26th May 2014 we were up early for F-Troop to get organised to pick up red woodchip and some road base for the golf club.  Luckily we had a good number of volunteers and got all the work done. After golf we went out to Bunnings to buy some plants for the golf club gardens.
We were going over to see the kids in the afternoon but Emily had abig day enjoying the wiggles concert.  We were all a bit tired so we took a rain check until Friday when I am doing a babysit for Anne.

Tuesday 27th May 2014 I played in the Foursomes Championship with Rosemary Cohen.  We have played together in this event for a number of years now and always enjoy the day even if the golf is not good.  This year we played respectably well enough to come 3rd place in the 27 hole nett and we won the 18 hole nett in our division in addition to winning a ball. Our other playing partners were Susan Bourne, Pam Witt, Julie Craig and Doreen Vines.  We had some good highlights and a good day overall.

Wednesday 28th May 2014 I went over to the golf club to plant the new hedge plants and to fertilise and water the gardens as it has been so dry.  I had a lazy afternoon catching up with the ironing etc while Peter was at golf.  We watched the State of Origin Football match at home over a few wines to celebrate.

Thursday 29th May 2014 (today) we had a lazy morning and then went out to Office Works to get some more printer ink so I could print out some photos.  We did some household shopping, went to the golf club to do some errands there then home to rescue the washing as rain was on the way.  We did not get a lot of rain so hopefully we will get a bit more in the next few days. The weather has been so warm the gardens are getting very dry.

Tomorrow I am going out to watch Joel play at Little Rugby with Anne and then do some babysitting to get my grandchildren hit for the week.

Saturday 17th May 2014

The last couple of weeks have flown by : busy, busy, busy!

Friday 2nd April 2014 was a busy day at the golf club with another Garden Wedding to prepare for. The weather held and it was a beautiful day for golf and weddings.

Saturday 3rd April 2014 Peter played golf and I spent time updating my travel blog finishing off the Melbourne Flower Show photos.

Sunday 4th April 2014 we had a lot of rain overnight and we did not play golf this week keeping out options open for Anne in case she needed some help. I did some more work on my travel blog updating our photos from Hainan Island in China.

Monday 5th April 2014 we were up early for F-Troop and got some good work done even though we only had a small crew.

Tuesday 6th April 2014 I played golf at Gosford in the Open Day.  My playing partners were Sheila Williams, Jan Walker & Christine Drakeford.  We had a good fun day even though the golf was not too good.  I did manage to win nearest the pin at the 8th and a raffle prize so there were some highlights. The low light was our golf cart batteries conked out after 9 holes which was not good news as they are only a few months old.

Wednesday 7th April 2014 I did the final lot of photos for the travel blog while Peter played golf.  It was a huge job as I had a lot of photos covering our 12 day trip.  you can view my travel blog by clicking on my profile (above left) and select my travel blog from the list of blogs.  The Melbourne Flower show is included under "April"

Thursday 8th April 2014 We had a morning with Anne doing bits and pieces to help out. Anne and Grace are gradually picking up and Joel and Emily love having Mum at home. Later we went to Bunnings, Spotlight and Office works - my three favourite stores.  I needed a new tree lopper from Bunnings, some elastic from Spotlight and a new paper shredder from Office works.  All three stores are in the same place at West Gosford which is great for me.

Friday 9th April 2014 we spent a day at home - I caught up with my paper shredding which mounts up surprisingly fast.  I keep all my bits and pieces from our travels until I finish with my travel blog and ten shred them all before they become a comfortable home for the cockroaches. That evening we went to the Golf Club for Dinner and the raffles.

Saturday 10th April 2014 we did the household shopping and then I worked in the Golf Club gardens while Peter played golf.

Sunday 11th May 2014 we did not play golf as it was Mother's Day.  We all went to Rod & Anne's for breakfast as it was difficult for Anne and new baby Grace to organise themselves to our house while they are in recovery mode.  We had a lovely breakfast there and had some quality time with Joel and Emily.  Shane and Daniel called in as well so we had a good family time.  The rest of the day I had a lazy day at home as one does on Mother's Day.

Monday 12th May 2014 we were up early for F-Troop with a lot of work to do with only a small crew.  I got some good work done on the front street garden over there which has been a major project.

Tuesday 13th May 2014 I did not play golf as the course has been very wet.  Instead I opted to do a house clean with an intensive super clean of the bathrooms. We went in to Gosford to do some shopping and checked out the Aldi store.

Wednesday 14th May 2014 I went to Sydney with the golf girls to see "Strictly Ballroom"  We caught the 9 o'clock train which got us to the Star Casino in time for coffee and lunch (and a wine) before we went to the Lyric Theatre for the show.  We had a lovely day and I really enjoyed the show.  The costumes and dancing were great with some good foot tapping songs.  Our trip home was marred with a medical emergency with one of the travellers on the train which meant we had to change trains at Strathfield.  We all managed to get a seat by Hornsby and were an hour late getting home.

Thursday 15th May 2014 I did some intensive cleaning of our bedroom, Computer Room and the TV Room where the dust can build up  invisibly.  We have had beautiful weather and I should have been outside in the gardens - but it is all about priorities.

Friday 16th May 2014  We travelled to Cessnock to attend a funeral of one of Peter's football mates who died suddenly at the age of 61 years. We had a good trip through to Cessnock and stopped at McDonalds for coffee and some lunch.  Not surprisingly we ran into a few friends there who were also attending the funeral. We attended the service at the Chapel of St Patricks which is just a couple of kilometres out of Cessnock and then the wake was at the Potters Brewery Pub and Resort  just up the road.  It was a big funeral and we caught up with a lot of friends that we have not seen for some time.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles.  Peter was on raffle duty.  No prizes for us this week.

Saturday 17th May 2014 we did the household shopping and then I worked in the Golf Club Gardens while Peter played golf.  It was a beautiful day and it was lovely to be outside.

Tomorrow is Joel's 5th birthday party at the Impact Play Centre at Erina with all of his little friends.Joel's birthday is not until Monday but he is very excited about turning 5 years old.
