The last couple of weeks we have enjoyed just the best autumn weather - perfect for outdoor activities.
Sunday 18th May 2014 we enjoyed celebrating Joel's 5th Birthday at the Impact Play Centre at Erina. Joel had about 20 friends to celebrate with him and it was just the perfect place for them to run themselves ragged. There was a little cafe serving drinks, coffee and assorted food for the adults and plenty of sitting room to be comfortable while the children were in the play area. Joel had the best time and so did Emily. Little Grace did not know a lot about it but she got plenty of cuddles. Shane's Danielle made the birthday cake featuring Joel's favourites - The Octonauts. It was a beautiful cake made with great skill.
Monday 19th May 2014 (Joel's actual birthday) we were up early for F-Troop and worked until lunch time. We had a good day with some good help in the gardens. After Joel came home from Kindy we went over to Rod & Anne's to have some more birthday cake and to blow out the traditional five candles with the rest of the family.
Tuesday 20th May 2014 I played golf. My playing partners were Doon Delaney and Alice Collett. We had a lovely day enjoying beautiful weather.
Wednesday 21st May 2014 I did some good work on the Golf Club Gardens cleaning out the weeds and rubbish from the Front Street Gardens.
Thursday 22nd May 2014 we had a lazy morning and then enjoyed a BBQ lunch at Col's new unit at East Gosford. We chatted away the afternoon in the lovely patio setting with Col, Alice, Col, Lauren, Mark, Anne, Rosalie and Duncan. No better way to spend an autumn afternoon.
Friday 23rd May 2014 I trimmed the ornamental fig vine growing up a pole at our front driveway. It was dangerous balancing at the top of the ladder but the job got done without mishap.
That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner, raffles and the badge draw. The club held a Trivia Night/Wine Tasting and Graham & Anne came up from Turramurra for dinner to help out our team. Our highlight was one of our team members won a large jar of lollies in the raffle.
Saturday 24th May 2014 we did the household shopping and I finished off the hedging at home while Peter went to golf.
Sunday 25th May 2014 we played golf at 11 o'clock with Ron & Lynn Puiatti. We had an enjoyable day on the course but the boys beat us for the keno ticket. Peter won nearest the pin which was a good highlight. After golf we went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with Mark, Anne, Lorraine & Kevin.
Monday 26th May 2014 we were up early for F-Troop to get organised to pick up red woodchip and some road base for the golf club. Luckily we had a good number of volunteers and got all the work done. After golf we went out to Bunnings to buy some plants for the golf club gardens.
We were going over to see the kids in the afternoon but Emily had abig day enjoying the wiggles concert. We were all a bit tired so we took a rain check until Friday when I am doing a babysit for Anne.
Tuesday 27th May 2014 I played in the Foursomes Championship with Rosemary Cohen. We have played together in this event for a number of years now and always enjoy the day even if the golf is not good. This year we played respectably well enough to come 3rd place in the 27 hole nett and we won the 18 hole nett in our division in addition to winning a ball. Our other playing partners were Susan Bourne, Pam Witt, Julie Craig and Doreen Vines. We had some good highlights and a good day overall.
Wednesday 28th May 2014 I went over to the golf club to plant the new hedge plants and to fertilise and water the gardens as it has been so dry. I had a lazy afternoon catching up with the ironing etc while Peter was at golf. We watched the State of Origin Football match at home over a few wines to celebrate.
Thursday 29th May 2014 (today) we had a lazy morning and then went out to Office Works to get some more printer ink so I could print out some photos. We did some household shopping, went to the golf club to do some errands there then home to rescue the washing as rain was on the way. We did not get a lot of rain so hopefully we will get a bit more in the next few days. The weather has been so warm the gardens are getting very dry.
Tomorrow I am going out to watch Joel play at Little Rugby with Anne and then do some babysitting to get my grandchildren hit for the week.
