Tuesday 7th January 2014

By contrast with Christmas - New Year's Eve was the quietest ever.  Rod & Anne went camping with the two children for a week and Shane was away working on his house or out with friends so very little was happening on the social side of things.

Sunday 29th December 2013 we played golf with Graham & Anne and had a very enjoyable day.  We did not stay to go out to dinner as Graham and Anne had to go back to Copacabana and our usual dinner friends were caught up with family or other social activities.

Monday 30th December 2013 we had our usual F-Troop day starting at 7.00am and working through to lunch time. We de-christmased the house and packed away the tree so the house is back to normal.

Tuesday 31st December 2013 - New Year's Eve I worked in the garden at home clearing as much rubbish from the gardens as I could as it was green bin night for collection.  We did not go out for New Year's Eve for the first time ever as Peter was not feeling up to it.  I managed to watch the 9 o'clock fireworks and then attempted to watch a movie but fell asleep and woke up at 12.10pm after the big fireworks were over.  A very uneventful introduction to 2014.

Wednesday 1st January 2014 I worked over at the golf club for a while in the morning getting some watering done and cleaning  up.

Thursday 2nd January 2014 Peter was still miserable with a bad back so we decided to go out to Erina Fair to get a massage to see if that helped.  Seeing I was there I had a massage as well on my back, shoulders and arms and came away feeling bruised and battered from a very firm massage with a lot of attention given to the tendons on my arms which have been under strain for a number of years.  Peter felt benefit from his massage but I am not sure that the arm massage was a good thing for me.  It was a very hot day so the air conditioning in the shopping centre was good.  We stayed for lunch and did a bit of shopping. We called in to Bunnings and I bought another couple of new roses to add to my garden at home.

Friday 3rd January 2014 we did the household shopping and I planted in the new roses at home. That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and raffle night and won three meat raffles.

Saturday 4th January 2014 we were over at the Golf Club early to help run a BBQ for the club and I did some gardening over there as well, finishing up about 12.30.  In the afternoon Rod, Anne & Joel came over and stayed for dinner to tell us all about their camping holiday.

Sunday 5th January 2014 we played golf with Rosalie & Duncan Dyer.  We had a good day even though our scores were not good - Peter got a birdie which was the highlight of the day.  We did not stay for dinner as we played golf early and not many people stayed for presentation.

Monday 6th January 2014 we were up early for F-Troop.  It was a hot day and we worked until 1.30 which was tiring.  Peter's back is still not good - so he may be back for another massage. I had ordered some 1000 thread bedsheets on line and they arrived by post today and I was happy that they were exactly as I had ordered in colour and quality.

Tuesday 7th January 2014 (today) I did not play golf because I was minding Joel and Emily while Anne went to work.  It was an overcast showery day so we did not venture out anywhere as the weather was unpredictable.  Joel and Emily were very good and we kept them amused around the house.  Anne & Rod stayed for dinner after they finished work and left after Joel and Emily had their bath and were ready for bed.

Tomorrow I have more gardening to do so I hope the weather is more stable.
