Thursday 30th January 2014

Another busy week that went very quickly.

Wednesday 27th January 2014 I worked over at the Golf Club front street gardens for the morning until it got too hot.  The predicted thunderstorms did not arrive.

Thursday 23rd January 2014 I went over early to the Golf Club gardens for a few hours work before it got too hot. In the afternoon we watched the end of the "House of Cards" series and were left with the feeling that there will be a follow up Series 2 as we were left assuming the end.

Friday 24th January 2014 we did the household shopping and then went to the Davistown RSL Club for lunch to catch up with Jan Willem & Carla who were our hosts in Holland a few years back now.  We had a lovely lunch and a good chat with Carla & Jan Willem who have been holidaying in Australia.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles.  No prizes for us this week.

Saturday 25th January 2014 Phil, Lorraine and Graham called in prior to the boys having a game of golf together.  Phil and Lorraine were on their way back to Moree after a few days in Sydney with Graham. While the boys played golf Lorraine and I went to Erina Fair for some retail therapy and lunch, later meeting the boys after golf at the Golf Club.  Anne joined us later for dinner. That evening we had dinner at the Trackside Restaurant at West Gosford.  Phil & Lorraine stayed the night with us and Graham & Anne went to Copacabana.

Sunday 26th January 2014 - Australia Day we had a big breakfast on the balcony with Phil & Lorraine.  Rod, Anne, Joel & Emily came over for breakfast and stayed until we went to golf.  Phil & Lorraine started on their return trip back to Moree.  Our golf playing partners were Wally & Rhonda Robertson and we had a lovely day. The boys beat us for the Keno Ticket and we had some good highlights.  After golf we had dinner at the Gosford Hotel with Mark, Anne & Kevin.

Monday 27th January 2014 I was up early for F-Troop.  As it was a public holiday we did not have a formal F-Troop Day.  Anne, Di & Carolyn turned up and Peter & Duncan came over later.  We got a good mornings work done.

Tuesday 28th January 2014 I played golf with Carolyn Buttsworth & Yvonne Cumming who were great company.  We had some good highlights and enjoyed the day even though our scores were not wonderful.

Wednesday 29th January 2014 I spent the morning at the Golf Club gardens cleaning up the Wedding Garden area as there is going to be a Wedding Expo at the club this Sunday. In the afternoon I did some shopping before Anne arrived with Joel and Emily for s sleep over and babysit tomorrow.  Anne was not feeling well so it all worked out that I could take the children to give her some recovery time.  Joel and Emily were very well behaved and loved sleeping in Nanny's bed.

Thursday 30th January 2014 Joel and Emily surprised us by sleeping in until after 7.30.  They did not disturb through the night so we had a good start to the day.  It was a beautiful day so we decided to take them to the Avoca Beach Rock Pool where they would be safe to wade into the water.  They loved it and were worn out by lunchtime.  We came home for some quiet time in the afternoon before Anne arrived to pick them up.
Peter had a meeting and Shane was working on his house so I had some recovery time before dinner.

Rod's birthday is tomorrow so we are meeting at the Trackside Restaurant for dinner to celebrate.

Tuesday 21st January 2014

We had some lovely slow rainfall overnight and some light showers today which was great for the gardens. The last few weeks have been very hot and dry so I hope the promised thunderstorms arrive tomorrow to refresh the gardens and to refill the dams at the Golf Club.

Wednesday 8th January 2014 I was up early to pick some roses for Danielle's birthday.  Later we went shopping and found a champagne glass shaped vase which was perfect for the roses.

Thursday 9th January 2014 I did some gardening in the front gardens and in the afternoon we had our annual review with Peter our Financial Advisor.

Friday 10th January 2014 we did some household shopping and that evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and raffles.

Saturday 11th January 2014 Peter played golf with Graham and I did some work over at the Golf Club gardens.

Sunday 12th January 2014 we played golf with John & Julie Hazzard and had a great day.  We started golf early so did not go out for our usual dinner at the pub.

Monday 13th January 2014 we were up early for F-Troop as we had a very busy day.  We worked until 1.30 and then came home to get out of the heat.

Tuesday 14th January 2014 I did not play golf - instead worked on the front gardens as it was green bin collection night.  Anne sent me a couple of photos of Joel and Emily enjoying their new swimming pool that Santa brought them.

Wednesday 15th January 2014 I worked early in the gardens to beat the heat.

Thursday 16th January 2014 I was back over at the Golf Club gardens early to do a couple of hours work before it got too hot.  Shane got us a DVD series of "House of Cards" which has 13 episodes and we have been watching a couple of episodes whenever we had time to sit down. It is one of those shows that you have to watch every episode in order and listen to all the dialogue to follow it. - Great show!

Friday 17th January 2014 I spent a day at home working in the gardens and catching up at home.  Friday evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and raffles.

Saturday 18th January 2014 We went to Heather & Matt's baby shower/BBQ at Graham & Anne's house at Turramurra.  It was good to catch up with all the family.  Heather looked very healthy and ready to give birth in the next few weeks.

Sunday 19th January 2014 was a very busy day with no time for reflection.  Rod, Anne, Joel and Emily came over for breakfast and went home when we were ready to go to golf.  Joel and Emily are growing up fast and are full on.  Our golf partners were Col Kelly and Alice Diamond and we had a great day.  Col & Alice were the stars - coming very close to winning the team event.  After golf we went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with Mark, Anne, Col and Alice which was a good finish for the day.

Monday 20th January 2014 we were up early again for F-Troop.  We had a lot of projects to do and worked through until 12.30.  Between trying to keep up with the tennis, golf and our DVD series - our afternoons have been busy.

Tuesday 21st January 2014 (today) I did not play golf - instead went to my beauticians to have my nails etc done.  It has been a cool showery day which was pleasant after all the heat of the last few weeks.

Hopefully the promised thunderstorms will arrive on cue which will give me a break from watering.

Tuesday 7th January 2014

By contrast with Christmas - New Year's Eve was the quietest ever.  Rod & Anne went camping with the two children for a week and Shane was away working on his house or out with friends so very little was happening on the social side of things.

Sunday 29th December 2013 we played golf with Graham & Anne and had a very enjoyable day.  We did not stay to go out to dinner as Graham and Anne had to go back to Copacabana and our usual dinner friends were caught up with family or other social activities.

Monday 30th December 2013 we had our usual F-Troop day starting at 7.00am and working through to lunch time. We de-christmased the house and packed away the tree so the house is back to normal.

Tuesday 31st December 2013 - New Year's Eve I worked in the garden at home clearing as much rubbish from the gardens as I could as it was green bin night for collection.  We did not go out for New Year's Eve for the first time ever as Peter was not feeling up to it.  I managed to watch the 9 o'clock fireworks and then attempted to watch a movie but fell asleep and woke up at 12.10pm after the big fireworks were over.  A very uneventful introduction to 2014.

Wednesday 1st January 2014 I worked over at the golf club for a while in the morning getting some watering done and cleaning  up.

Thursday 2nd January 2014 Peter was still miserable with a bad back so we decided to go out to Erina Fair to get a massage to see if that helped.  Seeing I was there I had a massage as well on my back, shoulders and arms and came away feeling bruised and battered from a very firm massage with a lot of attention given to the tendons on my arms which have been under strain for a number of years.  Peter felt benefit from his massage but I am not sure that the arm massage was a good thing for me.  It was a very hot day so the air conditioning in the shopping centre was good.  We stayed for lunch and did a bit of shopping. We called in to Bunnings and I bought another couple of new roses to add to my garden at home.

Friday 3rd January 2014 we did the household shopping and I planted in the new roses at home. That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and raffle night and won three meat raffles.

Saturday 4th January 2014 we were over at the Golf Club early to help run a BBQ for the club and I did some gardening over there as well, finishing up about 12.30.  In the afternoon Rod, Anne & Joel came over and stayed for dinner to tell us all about their camping holiday.

Sunday 5th January 2014 we played golf with Rosalie & Duncan Dyer.  We had a good day even though our scores were not good - Peter got a birdie which was the highlight of the day.  We did not stay for dinner as we played golf early and not many people stayed for presentation.

Monday 6th January 2014 we were up early for F-Troop.  It was a hot day and we worked until 1.30 which was tiring.  Peter's back is still not good - so he may be back for another massage. I had ordered some 1000 thread bedsheets on line and they arrived by post today and I was happy that they were exactly as I had ordered in colour and quality.

Tuesday 7th January 2014 (today) I did not play golf because I was minding Joel and Emily while Anne went to work.  It was an overcast showery day so we did not venture out anywhere as the weather was unpredictable.  Joel and Emily were very good and we kept them amused around the house.  Anne & Rod stayed for dinner after they finished work and left after Joel and Emily had their bath and were ready for bed.

Tomorrow I have more gardening to do so I hope the weather is more stable.
