The last 10 days have flown by - we have had an amazing mix of weather covering every phase of weather from hot and sunny, windy, showery, thunder storms, lightning, heavy rain.
Monday 18th November 2013 we had continuing rain all day. F-Troop was a non event for us gardeners as we could not get out on the course at all. Some of the boys turned up to do some under cover maintenance work. My Internet went down and I was unable to use the computer until the problem was worked out. So it was a quiet day at home for me.
Tuesday 19th November 2013 Our ladies golf was washed out so we all went over to the club for the 1.30 pm start for the Ladies AGM. It was reasonably uneventful with a new committee elected in for the 2014 year.
Wednesday 20th November 2013 there was more rain and thunder storms so Peter did not play golf. We watched the golf and cricket matches on TV. We also worked out the Internet problem which was just a matter of restarting the modem which renewed the Internet connectivity. The only problem was that it also interfered with our home security system which did not like the Internet to be down. After some testing we got it all back on line so all is good again.
Thursday 21st November 2013 I went over to the Golf Club to trim the lavender garden at the 16th. We also checked out the batteries in our golf cart which have shown signs of wearing out. We went and got some quotes and it looks like we are up for a set of batteries. ouch!
Friday 22nd November 2013 I was up early to cut some roses to take to my beauticians. We did the household shopping and I had my nails done in the afternoon. That evening we went to the Club for dinner and raffles. We won a breakfast tray of bacon, sausages and eggs.
Saturday 23rd November 2013 I was over at the Golf Club early to clean up the Wedding Garden for a Wedding at 4.00pm that afternoon. By 11.30 the rain started to pour down and it was doubtful that the Wedding may be held in the garden. I was home by 12.00pm to look after Emily while Anne took Joel to a birthday party. Peter did not play golf because of the rain. Rod, Anne, Joel and Emily stayed for dinner and went home after the kids had their bath. Emily was such fun to look after. She is so well behaved and kept me on my toes with all the games she likes to play. The wedding at the club had a happy ending with the weather clearing up to a beautiful sunny afternoon and the wedding was held in the Wedding Garden as planned.
Sunday 24th November 2013 I was up to do some dead heading in the garden as the roses have all been knocked around with the wet weather. Our playing partners at Golf were Wally & Fay Bailey. Wally & Fay called around before golf bringing us a baby car seat and a highchair that they had finished with. We need to stock up for baby no 3 due next April. The golf event of the day was the Annual Naggers Cup which is keenly contested every year. Peter and I played played 3 shots over of our handicaps which kept us out of the trophy lineup. We did have some good highlights and enjoyed the day. The club Bistro was closed so we went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with a group of our golf friends. Our Golf Cart did not make it around the 18 holes of golf today - so new batteries will be required.
Monday 25th November 2013 we were up early for F-Troop. We were down a lot of volunteers due to holidays and health issues so we had a very busy morning getting everything done before a big charity day started with a shotgun start at 11.30am. That afternoon it poured with rain for several hours. We went out to get a couple of quotes for the new batteries we are going to need for our golf cart.
Tuesday 26th November 2013 I played golf in the Ladies Tuesday Closing Day. My playing partners were Lesley Gregory, Sue Hutton & Sandy Laybutt. We had a fun day playing a team event and finished up winning a ball and were only one shot shy of winning a trophy.
Wednesday 27th November 2013 (today) I worked at the Golf Club wedding garden until 2.30pm. It was a big morning of work and I was happy to be a lounge lizard in the afternoon. It was a lovely sunny day - not too hot - so I enjoyed being outside.
Tomorrow the weather is threatening to turn very hot so it will be back to slip, slap & slop the sunscreen for the Ladies Thursday Closing day of golf.
