Monday 26th August 2013

Getting ready now for our Cunnamulla experience.  The last few days have been busy.

Friday 23rd August 2013 We did the household shopping, then I was off to the beauticians and then on to my Doctor to get some new scripts which always run out just before holidays.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles and finished up with two prizes from the meat raffles.

Saturday 24th August 2013 I did some of the gardens at the golf club while Peter was at golf. That evening we went to Annie & Bert's for a post Vietnam dinner with our golf friends who came with us to Vietnam.

Sunday 25th August 2013 I did a house clean before we went to golf.  The golf event was a Mixed Team 2nd Round and our playing partners were Mark Stimpson & Faye Levenspiel, our opposition players on the day were Laurie & Denise Bentlin.  We had a great day with mixed fortunes in the golf.  Faye had 40 points and Mark had 36 points, I had the next best with 35 points which left us one point short of coming runners up on the day.  I had three 4 pointers and won a ball.  After golf we stayed for dinner at the club with our golf friends.  I was able to try out my newest toy on the golf course which is a Golf GPS that pins to my hat and tells me the distance from the pin.  It was my birthday present from the kids.

Monday 26th August 2013 (today) we were up early for F-Troop and worked until midday.  We are picking up the motor home this afternoon and then we can do some serious packing.  Thankfully we have Shane to do our housesitting so there is not a lot to do before we leave.

We are looking forward to our first motor home experience!

Thursday 22nd August 2013

We have had a week of cool crisp nights and early mornings fining up to beautiful sunny days with a cool breeze attached.

Saturday 17th August 2013 Peter played golf so I went over and did some more work on the front gardens at the golf club - the rest of the day was a recovery day and early night after all the birthday celebrations.

Sunday 18th August 2013 Rod, Anne & the kids came for breakfast and then I took Joel and Emily for a walk to the railway to see the trains before we went to golf.  Our golf playing partners today were Nigel & Sheena Asken and we had a lovely day.  Peter got runner up and we had some good highlights.  After golf we went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with a few of our golf friends.

Monday 19th August 2013 we were over at F-Troop at 7 o'clock for a busy day of mulching the gardens. We worked until lunchtime and then home for a nanny nap.

Tuesday 20th August 2013 I played golf with Chris Dekker, Lyn Bates and Julie Craig.  Our day had some good highlights with Lyn getting a birdie and winning the day as well as winning the team event with Julie. Tuesday evening we went out to Arees Thai Restaurant with Di, Neil, Ken & Marg for a catch up.  We had a good night and caught up with all the news from Dorrigo.

Wednesday 21st August 2013 I went to Sydney for the day with Anne to check out the Ikea Store.  We had a fun day and spent heaps on the little people.  Emily needed to have her own bed so we bought her and expandable bed that will grow from cot size to a normal single bed.  I loved the Ikea store and could have spent all day there checking out all the stock.  We had a legendary $1 Ikea Hot Dog to finish the day before returning home to pick up the kids from Kindy.  Anne had a Doctor's appointment so I looked after the kids.
Rod came over and they all stayed for a pizza dinner.  While at Sydney I bought a twin pusher so I could walk both of the kids together when they get tired and do not want to walk.  We gave it a test drive down to the station and the kids loved it.  Nanny struggled a bit on the hills but we made it safe and sound.

Thursday 22nd August 2013 I went to my hairdresser for a colour and cut as my hair was getting rather long.
In the afternoon we went to the golf club to plant in some lavender plants, water some gardens and give our golf cart a good wash as it gets very dirty doing F-Troop duty.

We have not had a lot of rain this month so I have had to spend some extra time in the garden watering.

Friday 16th August 2013 - My 70th Birthday

I had a wonderful day to celebrate my 70th Birthday.

Friday 16th August 2013 I woke up late, did some household shopping, went out to lunch at our favourite lunch place at Wyoming and then had a rest until it was time to get ready to celebrate.

Anne, Joel & Emily came around home to give me my birthday present about 5 o'clock.  Joel and Emily were very excited about my birthday dinner and cake.

We arrived at the club shortly before 6 o'clock and Peter had a family table set up with balloons and all. It was Di's birthday as well so we had a double celebration.

Everything went like clockwork and we enjoyed the dinner and night of celebration.  Rod, Anne, Joel, Emily, Shane, Graham, Anne, Di, Neil, Lauren, Col & Ron made up our table and we shared the birthday cakes with the rest of the Golf Club Members and friends.

Afterwards Neil & Di, Col & Lauren came home for coffee to finish off a good night.

I got some lovely presents and had a fabulous day.  If this is 70 then bring it on!!!!

Thursday 15th August 2013

We have had beautiful weather this week - pity I have got my cold back.

Thursday 8th August 2013 We went out to Bunnings so I bought some new plants for the front garden to add some colour for the spring.  I bought some snapdragons, petunias & pansies & planted them out.

Friday 9th August 2013 I finished planting out the pansies and we did the household shopping.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles.  We won a meat tray on the very last draw.

Saturday 10th August 2013 I went over to the club to tidy up the front garden that had got very messy.

Sunday 11th August 2013 Rod, Anne, Joel & Emily came over for breakfast,  Anne & I took Joel and Emily to Bunnings to buy some tomato plants and I picked up some more pansies and petunias for the garden.  Peter, Joel and Emily planted in the tomato plants and watered them.  We went to golf at 11.30 and our playing partners were partners were Neville & Jan Walker.  Jan played very well and I played well enough for us to win the Ladies 2 Ball Event which was a good highlight.  After Golf we went to dinner at the Gosford Hotel with Jan and Neville and some of the golfers.

Monday 12th August 2013 we were at F-Troop early and worked until lunch time.  It was lovely weather in the morning but some wild winds blew up in the afternoon which kept me inside.

Tuesday 13th August 2013 I played golf with Pam Witt and Eris Brown who were lovely company.  Our golf was not all that great but we enjoyed the sunshine, our par holes and the company.

Wednesday 14th August 2013 I spent the day planting out the pansies and petunias in the front garden, did some hedging and cleaning up out the front and the verandah, did all the housework, washing, ironing etc so I can look forward to some relaxing days leading up to my birthday.

Thursday 15th August 2013 (today) I shouted myself a facial and manicure, bought a rose for my beautician who has a birthday the same day as me.  I am planning a restful afternoon - maybe giving the garden a water will be my biggest effort.
