Monday 15th April 2013

Since my last posting we have been to Vietnam & back.  I have been restricted by time, Internet access and very busy schedules so my blog has been on hold until I caught up with myself.

I have not disappeared off the face of the earth as you may have thought as I very rarely have this big a break in my postings.  After we returned from Vietnam I was suffering from a stomach virus that put me down for several days.  Happily I am back on deck and it is business as usual.   It will take me a bit of time to get the Vietnam bit updated as we have a busy three days ahead of us - so maybe by the end of next week I could possibly be up to date.

Friday 12th April 2013 we organised some American dollars from the Post Office to get us started in Vietnam and then went out to Erina for our last minute shopping before packing.  In the afternoon Joel & Emily arrived for an overnight stay.  Rod & Anne were attending a wedding today in Sydney and were staying the weekend so we were all taking a share of babysitting while they were away.  Joel & Emily are great to look after and were really good overnight.

Saturday 13th April, 2013 we took Joel out to swimming lessons at Picketts Valley Swim School.  After that we stopped off at the park so Joel and Emily could have a play in the children's playground before taking them (and me) home for a rest.  Anne's Mum & Dad picked them up about 4 o'clock as they were having them for the Saturday night.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for a dinner dance which was the Baby Boomers night (an entertainment group singing the old 60's songs) and also celebrated Mark's birthday.

Sunday 14th April 2013 we played golf with George & Vicki Foster and had a great day even though we were all a bit dusty from the night before.   I came in Runner Up of the Ladies Singles so that was a highlight. After golf we went to the Gosford Hotel for a quick dinner with our golfing friends.

Monday 15th April 2013 we were up early for F-Troop as it was our final day before leaving for Vietnam. We got some really good work done during the morning.  After morning tea I went over to the doctors to get our letters to take with us overseas and to register the Typhoid injection that Anne had given me the previous week.  In the afternoon I was off to my beauty salon for a quick facial, nails and pedicure so I would be set for our two week adventure.  Then it was home to do my packing.  We are getting seasoned travellers now & I have a checklist that seems to work & we managed to get it all done without forgetting anything and coming in under the weight limit - which was important as we were travelling with our golf clubs.

Then it was off to get some sleep as we were being picked up at 6.00am on Tuesday morning to go to the airport.

I still have not had time to get all my Vietnam photos organised properly and it will be a little while before my travel blog will be updated.  I did get all of the Golfers Blog done and kept it up to date as we travelled as the Internet service was the best I had in all the places we have travelled which really surprised me. Most places had free Wi Fi if there was Internet available. I hope to get back to this blog before the end of next week.
