Wednesday 3rd April 2013

The last couple of weeks have flown by ..... the last week I have had a double whammy of virus infections which has knocked me off my feet - I feel as if I have lost a week of my life.

Friday 22nd March 2013 Joel & Emily arrived for a overnight and weekend babysit while Anne was in Sydney having a weekend off with her girlfriends.  Rod came later in the night and stayed over for the weekend as well.   We decided not to go to the Raffles night at the club as the kids were not settled in time.
Joel was sick that night which was the start of the 24 hour virus that overtook us all.  Emily had bought it home from day care and it eventually went through the lot of us.

Saturday 23rd March 2013 Joel was much better so we took him to his swimming lessons at Picketts Valley. Joel enjoyed his lessons and Emily looked on and was no trouble.  In the afternoon we took them both down to the train station to see the trains come in and out and have an iceblock.  Rod had been at work all day and got home in time for us to go out to dinner at Annie & Bert's with all our friends that are going to Vietnam with us.  We had a lovely night there and picked up our passports and tickets so we are all set to go.

Sunday 24th March 2013 we played with Joel & Emily in the morning.  They helped me to water the garden & I filled up their wading pool so they could cool off.  At 11.00 am we left for golf and Rod took over babysitting until we got home.  Our playing partners were Wal & Fay Bailey and we had a lovely day at golf - even though the scores were not too good.  After golf we went to the Gosford Hotel with Fay & Wal and a few of our other golfing friends to have dinner before coming home.

Monday 25th March 2013 I was up early to get Joel and Emily organised to be picked up by Gayle who was looking after them until Anne got back from Sydney.  By the time I had the house in order it was 9 o'clock so I made a late appearance at F-Troop.  A nanny nap was in order in the afternoon as it had been a big weekend.

Tuesday 26th March 2013 I played golf with Helen Stuart & Lea Southon.  We had a nice day on the village green and I managed to scramble in for the Runner Up prize which was a bonus.

Wednesday 27th March 2013 I went to Sydney with Anne to see "War Horse" at the Lyric Theatre.  We left early so that we would have time for some retail therapy before having lunch at the Casino Coffee Shop. I was starting to feel unwell during shopping and had stomach pains on and off which spoilt the day for me.  We enjoyed the show and thought that the puppetry was the highlight.  It was more of a play than a musical and there was very little singing.  The puppets were fantastic - full credit to the cast.  By the time we got home I was feeling worse for wear.  Peter was home in bed - having come down with the same virus and had to come home from golf early.  I went straight to bed in the hope that I would recover quickly.

Thursday 28th March 2013 We got up early and went to Bunnings to buy a few things.  One of the girls at Golf had donated a couple of plants that needed potting - so I bought a couple of pots and we went straight to the Golf Club and got the job done.  We were both feeling off colour by then so it was straight home to bed. That Evening Peter was on Raffle Duty at the Golf Club so we struggled over and got the job done but could still not eat anything.  We won a tray of sausages, bacon & eggs which was a bonus.

Easter Friday 29th March 2013 we had a very quiet recovery day at home not doing much at all.  I had not eaten anything since Wednesday in the hope of starving the virus out.

Easter Saturday 30th March 2013 I went over early to the Golf Club to tidy up for an afternoon wedding in the wedding garden.  We left for Shane's house at 11.30 for a 12.30 lunch at his Gwadalan house.  Shane & Sam were having a family day so we had a chance to catch up with Sam's Family.  Anne had also come down with the same virus as we had so Rod brought Joel for the afternoon so he could play with the kids.
Shane had a water slide and jumping castle set up in the back yard so the kids had a ball.  Shane has done some good work on his house renovations so the place has been much improved.

Easter Sunday 31st March 2013 we went over to Rod & Anne's to drop some clothes back before going to golf.  Anne was still not too well and Rod had a touch of it as well.  Peter and I were both feeling better but I had recovered faster than Peter.  Our playing partners were Col Kelly & Alice Diamond.  We were to have been playing a team game but it was changed to a single stableford because there were not too many starters for the 12.30 shotgun start.  Col played well and was our champion of the day.  After golf there was a dinner dance at the club so we were back there at 6 pm for dining and dancing.  We had a good band and everyone enjoyed the night.  It was very late by the time I had finished the golfers blog and got to bed.

Easter Monday 1st April 2013 I woke up with a sore throat and not feeling well enough to even get out of bed.  The second virus had struck while my defences were down.

Tuesday 2nd April 2013 I did not feel well enough to play golf - so cancelled out of the day's event.  I went out in the garden for an hour to do some dead heading but then had to come in and lie down.  The infection is now going down to my chest - so it looks like it will follow the normal routine.  I have a Doctor's appointment on Friday so if I am still struggling then I will get some anti-biotic to clear it all up before we go to Vietnam. Shane called in on his way to bowls for a chat in the afternoon.

Wednesday 3rd April 2013 (today) I am still not feeling the best so another quiet day is in order.   I got up early to water the front garden and I had no sooner done so than it started raining which gave me a good excuse to go inside.

I will be happy to have these virus' under control so I can get my energy levels back up.  I have lost a few kilos in weight (which will do me no harm at all).  I have got a lot of catch up work to do before we go away as I have had such a slack week.  It is raining hard at the moment which will be great for the gardens as they are very dry.
