We had some nice sunny weather at long last even if the wind has been a little cool and the mornings very chilly.
Wednesday 1st August 2012 we had a nice sunny day but the wind chill factor was there. I managed to get all the lavenders and lilies planted at the Golf Club gardens. It was a big job out of the way.
Thursday 2nd August 2012 Peter wanted to go to Bunnings to pick up some things for the Golf Club so I went along and got some rose fertilizer and things that I needed for the garden. We also picked up some sand for the Golf Club and got some garden mulch so I could make a start on the garden preparations at home so that I would not have a jungle growing when we get back from our o/s holiday.
Friday 3rd August 2012 I made a start on the side gardens getting the gardens weeded, fertilized and mulched as well as trimming back the hedge and camellias. It was a nice sunny day so I enjoyed being out in the gardens. Peter was down and out with a head cold so we did not go to the Raffles Night at the Golf Club.
Saturday 4th August 2012 we did a quick grocery shop at West Gosford, then went to Wamberal to return Bev's garden dish & collect some more succulent plants. After that we went to Erina to try & find some special batteries that were needed for catering equipment at the Golf Club. We could not find the batteries but got Peter some cough medicine from the chemist as he was not improving. In the afternoon I did a goggle search for the batteries and managed to find them on line which was a bonus. I managed to get some more work done on the front gardens.
Sunday 5th August 2012 we were not playing golf as we had a luncheon arranged at the Golf Club with my old work colleagues at midday. We called in at Rod's to have some time with Joel and Emily. Anne was at work and Rod was on babysitting duty. We had a nice luncheon at the Golf Club with a dozen or so of my work friends and we spent the afternoon chatting and catching up. We were still there when the golfers came in so I was able to get the presentation photos done at the same time.
Monday 6th August 2012 we were at F-Troop early as we had some big projects to do. We had a nice sunny day to work in and had fourteen volunteers to help out so we got some good work done.
Tuesday 7th August 2012 I played golf with an early 8.30am start and it was a fine but very cold morning. My playing partners were Kath Small & Nan Richards & we had an enjoyable day. Nan is a new member to the club (coming from Asquith Club) and we were happy to bring her in as the winner of her grade. My golf was a mixture of good and bad but I did manage to get some good one putt greens that made my day.
After golf we went down to the Post Office to check out the debit visa card information for our upcoming holiday. Our travel agent David dropped in the rest of our travel documents so we can start to do some serious preparation at this stage.
Wednesday 8th August 2012 I went into Gosford to get my medications that I need to build up for our holiday. When I got home I spent some time on line getting our Visa Waivers for our USA entry which we needed to get into place. We had some more nice sunshine so I spent the afternoon in the front gardens getting another garden out of the way.
Tomorrow I am playing golf in the Singles Knock Out Competition which is an early start. I am hoping for good weather like today which would be nice.
