Another weird photo of a spider nesting on our
security camera - keeping out of the cold weather

Graham sent me this weird photo he took

The weather has improved this week to mostly sunny days and very cold nights which has meant I have been able to get outside again.

Thursday 21st June 2012 I went out to Erina with Anne to look after Emily while Joel played with the "Little Kickers"   We did some shopping for Emily and Joel in the toy shop as Anne had been given some gift vouchers.  I bought some more clothes hangers & storage bags for my walk in wardrobe at home. We had lunch at Erina & came home when the children needed to have their naps.  We went out to Matcham in the afternoon to pick up some plants for the golf club that had been donated and then planted them out at the golf club.

Friday 22nd June 2012 we sorted out all the bags that we wanted to dispose of and took them all out to the Salvation Army and then went out to the local dump to dispose of all the left over bags.  That was quite an exercise as I had 25 big plastic bags and assorted other things. On the way home we did the household shopping so we could have a free day on Saturday.  When we got home I cleaned up the lounge room & got the house back to normal after the big sort out.  At 4.30 Col & Lauren Matterson called around for nibbles and drinks so we could discuss our upcoming holiday to America.  We still have a lot of decisions to make and some research to put in before we go.  At 6.30pm we all went over to the club for the raffle night and stayed for dinner.  The weather had turned very cold with a bitter wind.

Saturday 23rd June 2012 Peter played golf and I did some gardening in the front gardens which is getting overgrown. In the afternoon I did some more work on my photo graveyard which I am starting to make an impression upon.

Sunday 24th June 2012 Rod & Anne were not going to be home so I did some more photos before going to golf about 11.00am.  Our playing partners were Duncan & Rosalie Dyer & we had a good day on the village green.  The boys beat us for the Keno Ticket as they both played really well. Peter won a nearest the pin and won the "Eagles Nest" Prize of 18 golf balls for his fantastic 31cms from the hole shot. I made a good shot in off the green into the hole which made my day.  We stayed for dinner at the club after golf with some of our golf friends.

Monday 25th June 2012 (today) we were up early for F-Troop starting at 7.00 am.  It was very cold but quite nice once the sun warmed us up a bit.  We had a busy day working until 12.00pm at the club.  Then we went back out to Matcham to pick up some more succulent plants that were donated to the club.  By the time I got those planted in & got home it was 3.30pm.  It was a big day and an early night is required.

Tomorrow is golf day so I am looking forward to some fine weather.  The golf course has dried up and is playing well so I have no excuses.

Joel in the toy shop

This week has just flown past.  Every day has been busy in one way or another.  The weather has improved and the last few days have been beautiful.

Thursday 14th June 2012 Peter was still away on his Gold Coast Golf Tour so I went out to Erina with Anne to look after Emily while Joel played with the "Little Kickers".  We had lunch and coffee after soccer and then did the rounds of the toy shops as Emily's birthday was coming up on Saturday.  We had a lot of fun looking at all the toys available - and there are multitudes.  Joel is really good in the shops - taking his time looking at all the different toys (cars in particular) & then he is happy to leave without any purchases.  (Nanny slipped in a toy crane that he was very fond of). I took a short video of him riding in a toy car in the toy shop (very cute).  Emily is slowly recovering after her stint in hospital but is still reluctant to drink or eat.  She was a happier girl today and sat with me with no problems. After lunch I spent the afternoon doing some more photos and shredding old cards that I have kept for years (the hoarder at work).

Friday 15th June 2012 it was a good weather day so I caught up with all the washing and ironing, vacuumed the house, scanned more photos and shredded more cards.  I have been steadily culling things from my wardrobe all week and now have a pile of black plastic bags ready for disposal on the lounge room floor. The results of years of accumulation.   Friday evening I went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles.  I sat with all the girls whose husbands are also at the Gold Coast Golf Tour - we called ourselves the "Widows table".  Kerry rang while I was there to say that they did not have time to call in as it was so late after their long haul from Moree. Brent is playing football at Wyong tomorrow.

Saturday 16th June 2012 I spent the morning doing more tidying up so I could have the rest of the weekend free.  Peter arrived home from his golf tour about 3.30pm just in time to go to Rod & Anne's for Emily's first birthday party.  It was an awful wet day & continued to rain throughout the day.  Emily has lost a lot of weight during her recent illness and is still not up to scratch - so Anne is taking her to a specialist for a check up to narrow down the problem.  Emily was in good spirits and enjoyed her day - not quite knowing what all the fuss was about. She enjoyed having Grandad, Grandma, Nanna Gayle, Poppy and Nanny there to give her attention.   We stayed for dinner and then came home for an early night as Peter had been on the road all day.

Sunday 17th June 2012 the sun was out again which was good.  We had decided not to play golf as there were no carts allowed on the course and the course was very wet.  Peter had just played six games of golf straight and was happy to give it a miss.  We had a quite morning at home and I managed to get some more work done on my photo graveyard which was good.   In the afternoon we went out to The Entrance Road to collect some more succulents for the golf club gardens and called into Bunnings to pick up some F-Troop equipment and some marine varnish to paint some old golf shoes to use as garden ornaments.

Monday 18th June 2012 we were at F-Troop at 7.00 am.  We were not allowed on the course with heavy equipment as the course was still very wet.  We were able to get all the succulent plants in and mulched and a few other tasks around the clubhouse. I had taped the Golf before we left so we spent the afternoon relaxing and watching the very exciting finish.

Tuesday 19th June 2012 was my first golf game for a couple of weeks because of the weather.  We had a stroke match and the monthly medal today which is always tough on a wet course.  My playing partners were Lynn Puiatti and Anne Forrester who were great company and carried me through for a win which I was very happy about.  I have not won a monthly medal in years let alone winning the nett and gross and the putting for my division.  It was Anne's birthday as well so we had much to celebrate after the match. Shane was at home when I arrived back home so we were able to have a catch up.

Wednesday 20th June 2012 (today) was another nice weather day.  Peter was at golf for the day so I went shopping into Gosford for an hour and then did some gardening out the front gardens which are getting overgrown with all the wet weather.  It is nearly up to pruning time so I need to get all the weeding done now.  This afternoon I did some more photo scanning and have now finished all the boys photos.  Still plenty more to go yet.

Tomorrow I am going to Erina with Anne to mind Emily while Joel plays little kickers.  In the afternoon I have some more succulent plants to pick up for the golf club so another sunny day would be lovely.

 The restored jewellery

A wonderful photo of me wearing the bracelet

The original bracelet

This week has been miserable with all the non stop wet weather just about every day.  The only up side is that I had a wonderful opportunity to do a much needed clean out of my wardrobe, spare bedrooms and the linen press as well as making an impact on my photo graveyard - all indoor sports requiring my undivided attention.  An added bonus was having Peter on the Gold Coast all week playing in a golf tournament with his mates which gave me the house to myself to organise myself without interruption.  From that point of view the rain was good.  I could not be distracted by golf or the gardens.  The results have been very pleasing & I will need more than a trailer to offload all the accumulated "things" that I am disposing of.

Tuesday 5th June 2012 the Ladies Golf was washed out with heavy rain.  I had ordered on line through last week some clothing racks and shoe racks with the intention of turning one of the spare bedrooms into a walk in wardrobe for my "accumulated" clothes & shoes.  The clothing racks arrived so I spent the day cleaning out and setting up the room for a wardrobe.

Wednesday 6th June 2012 the rain  continued and the Men's golf was washed out as well.  We went to Erina for the morning as Peter wanted to pick up some clothes to take away to the Gold Coast for his week of golf and I needed to have my reading glasses repaired as I had lost the lens out of one side of the glasses (probably while I was nursing Emily as Anne found the lens at her place).  My shoe racks had arrived so Peter helped me to put them together.  While at Erina I bought another couple of clothes racks and hangers so I could complete the walk in wardrobe.  The room came together well and I had no trouble filling it up

Thursday 7th June 2012 Peter wanted to see Joel and Emily before he left for the Gold Coast so we went out to Erina to watch Joel play with the "Little Kickers" which teaches him soccer skills.  We met Anne out at Erina and looked after Emily while Anne participated in the "Little Kickers" with Joel.  Emily has not been well for the last week having a chest infection and an ear infection both of which required antibiotics. We had lunch with Anne at Erina and the I spent the afternoon working on my wardrobe.

Friday 8th June 2012 Peter left for the Gold Coast at 6.00am and I spent the day washing everything in sight including sheets, towels, clothes and anything else I could find as it was a rare sunny day that could not be wasted. I went over to the golf club gardens & cleaned up around the wedding garden area.  Rod rang to say that he was at home so I came home to see him.  The rest of the day I spent cleaning out the linen cupboard & working on the photo graveyard as well as doing all the ironing and cleaning the bathrooms etc.  That night I went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles and sat with the regulars who did not go to the Gold Coast.  I won a meat tray which was a bonus. Anne sent me a message to say that she was taking Emily into Hospital as she had been very unwell all day and was not improving.  I met her over at the hospital and stayed until 11 o'clock when the Doctor decided to put Emily on a drip and keep her overnight.

Saturday 9th June 2012 I met the Golf Club girls ( Di and Anne) & helped them to clean up the footpath area outside the club.  Rod called around to say that Emily and Anne were still at the hospital.  I wet up with Rod to see Anne & Emily and brought Joel back home to have a day sleep.  We went back to see how Anne was getting along about 3.30 when Joel woke up from his nap.  Emily was showing signs of improvement but was still on the drip.  The Doctor kept Emily in for Saturday night so Rod took Joel home.

Sunday 10th June 2012 it rained heavily all day.  Rod rang to say Anne & Emily were home from hospital & Emily was doing well. Golf was cancelled so I spent the day cleaning out cupboards, scanning photos etc. I am making some good inroads with the photos and would say I am about half way through.

Monday 11th June 2012 it was pouring rain again so F-Troop was cancelled.  I spent all day between photos and cupboards and have accumulated a heap of black plastic bags in the lounge room ready for throw out.

Tuesday 12th June 2012 the rain continued and golf was cancelled.  I spent the day much like Monday getting quite a lot of things sorted out. I have found a lot of things that I had quite forgotten about so the clean out has been good.  Shane called in to see how I was doing.  He stayed for a cuppa & took home his hard copy photos that I had already scanned into the computer so he can decide if he wants to keep them or not.

Wednesday 13th June 2012 (today) we had even more rain and golf was again cancelled.  I spent the morning moving clothes around and deciding what else I could cull.  I am such a terrible hoarder & keep all kinds of sentimental things.  I have taken a hard line & out they have gone.  This afternoon it was still raining so I went into Gosford to do some shopping and to pick up some jewellery that I have been having restored for Emily.  It is her first birthday on Saturday so I am giving her my baby bracelet that had been sitting at the bottom of my jewellery box for 60 years.  That and a bluebird locket that I will give her when she is a little older.  We have a good manufacturing jeweller in Gosford who made my "Greg" necklace and he had done a wonderful job of restoring the bracelet in 9 caret gold and it has come up beautifully.  Emily probably won't wear it until she is old enough to appreciate and look after it.

Peter has had a lot of rain in Queensland and it has been cold & windy so they are looking forward to the weather improving before they come home on Saturday.

Tomorrow I am going to Erina with Anne for the morning to look after Emily while Joel is at "Little Kickers" In the afternoon I am off to the hairdressers for a much needed hair cut & colour.  Then I will be feeling much better
