Monday 26th March 2012

I seem to have spent half of this week working on my computer because Peter was away for his week of Golf at Nelson's Bay & the weather had been rather ordinary.  It was a good chance to finish planning our holiday to America at the end of the year and also to continue with my "photo graveyard" project.

Tuesday 20th March 2012 I had a lovely day with Anne.  We went to the Capitol Theatre in Sydney to see "Love Never Dies" which we really enjoyed.  We travelled by train, had a nice lunch and a wine before the show.  The train travel was stress free and it was an easy day.

Wednesday 21st March 2012 I worked in the garden out the back and filled two green garbage tins. Then I  buried myself in my two main projects - ie our planned trip to America at the end of this year and to plough through some more photos, scanning them into the computer & filing them hopefully in the right folders & then saving them to external hard disk.

Thursday 22nd March 2012 was more of the same and I had eye strain by the end of it all.  I was able to get an itinerary together for our holiday in rough form so I now have something to work with. I can now see a difference in my collection of photos and the pile is slowly reducing.

Friday 23rd March 2012 I needed a break from the computer so I went over to the Golf Club gardens and tidied up for a special day over there.  In the afternoon I did some more photos.  Peter arrived home late afternoon from his week at Nelson's Bay - very tired and golfed out - so he said!

Saturday 24th March 2012 we had to do some household shopping & called into Office Works to pick up some security warning signs for our house  in an effort to discourage undesirables entering our property.
I managed to get another batch of photos done in the afternoon.

Sunday 25th March 2012 we called over early before golf to catch up with Rod & Anne & the babies.  Emily had not been well for a couple of days with a cold but she was on the mend.  I had fun playing with play dough and trains with Joel & Emily before we left to go to golf.  Our playing partners today were Col & Lauren Matterson &we had a good day in spite of the golf scores. Peter had a fall into one of the dams during the match and of course he was wearing long cream pants which was not good.   The weather was pleasant & thankfully no rain in sight.  We stayed for dinner at the club after golf.

Monday 26th March 2012 we were up early to watch some of the golf before going to F-Troop at 7.00 am.
We worked until after lunch so it was a long morning.  In the afternoon we had to return the cat cages as we had been unable to capture the mother feral cat and her two kittens.  I think they have found a home somewhere else.  This afternoon I was back on the computer for more holiday planning and blogging.

It seems to have been a long week but I have achieved a few things which is good.

Tomorrow I am back in golf mode - playing a social game of golf because the course is under maintenance and we have to play the same 9 holes twice.  It will be a good time to practice.

Monday 19th March 2012

Another busy and wet week.  My garden has gone feral in the rain with weeds coming out of nowhere to infest every garden.  We have discovered that we have a feral cat as well living in the greenhouse that has had four kittens!!!!!

Tuesday 13th March 2012 we had a fun day at golf - playing an Irish Multiplier to celebrate Irish Day.  My playing partner was Rhonda Robertson & other two players were Leanne Binns and Di Thomlinson. Our golf was not too wonderful but the company was good.  My highlight was getting a birdie at the 14th and winning nearest the pin.  Rhonda did not have a green shirt so we both wore orange & black.  I lent my Green Irish Gear to  Doon Jansen so they had a great Irish look on the day and were definitely the best dressed.

Wednesday 14th March 2012 was a sad day as we attended Garry Wilkinson's funeral at Green Point and the wake at the Gosford Sailing Club.  It was a huge funeral with the chapel at Greenway overflowing.  The Sailing Club was packed & we met up with a lot of people that we have not seen for a long time.  Rod and Anne were coming around for dinner but Joel got sick with croup and had to go to the doctors.

Thursday 15th March 2012 we went to Dick Smith's to get a cable that Peter needed.  I had purchased an E-Reader on line through the week and needed a protective cover for it.  I managed to find one which was good.  While there we spotted a 15 inch photo viewer which was just perfect for viewing the photos that I am downloading   I think it will be easier to re-visit the photos this way than pulling out photo albums.  We discovered that we had a feral cat living in our greenhouse and she has had four kittens.  We rang the RSPCA who put  us onto someone who had  cat trap so we can remove the cats from the garden.  It was easier saying than doing.  The mother cat was too smart to get caught in the cage but we did capture one kitten & took it over to a lady that looks after cats & finds families for them. Shane called in to say hello in the afternoon.

Friday 16th March 2012 the weather has been hot - so I went over to the club to water in the new plants and tidy up the gardens as we have got two garden weddings on Saturday.  We caught another kitten overnight.
We went over to the club for raffles and dinner as Peter has decided that he is not playing Friday Night cards anymore.

Saturday 17th March 2012 we had rain overnight and more during the day.  Anne picked me up to go to swimming lessons with Joel and Emily.  They are both doing lessons so Anne needs a hand to manage the two of them.  Emily loves the water but is not sure what she is supposed to be doing.  Joel is an old hand now and loves to learn to swim. Anne,Joel & Emily came around for morning tea & then had to go home as they were having visitors in the afternoon. We took the kitten up to Somersby to the RSPCA where hopefully it will find a happy home.  The other cats have gone into hiding in the rain so we have not been able to get anymore.  Peter dropped his golf clubs to Duncan Dyer's so they can go to Nelson's Bay in Duncan's trailer.  We did some household shopping.  I spent the afternoon scanning in more photos and am starting to make a small dent in the pile. I will be months and months getting it all together but it should be worthwhile in the end.
I went over to the club to see how the garden weddings went in the rain.  It was too wet unfortunately and the weddings had to be held on the club balcony.  Having two weddings only a short time apart caused problems when they both had to be inside.

Sunday 18th March 2012 Peter left early to go to Nelson's Bay for a week of golf with the boys.  I spent the day on my computer scanning photos etc.  Mark & Anne picked me up at 4.30 to go over to the club for dinner and to do the Presentation photos.  Lauren came as well as Col is at Nelson's Bay with Peter's group.

Monday 19th March 2012 (today) I was up early for F-Troop.  It had rained some more overnight but cleared up in time for F-Troop work.  It was a great day for planting in new plants so I took some of my plants that I have stocked in the back yard and found places for them in the gardens. We had only a small group of helpers today but managed to get some good work done.  I am ready now to do some more scanning.

Tomorrow I am going to Sydney with Anne to see "Love Never Dies" at the Capitol Theatre so I am looking forward to that.

Monday 12th March 2012

This week seemed to be very busy and yet I don't seem to have achieved much.  My photo graveyard project has been much bigger than I first thought and has taken over from things that I should be doing - however I am doggedly sticking to it.

Wednesday 7th March 2012 I was out in the garden early working in the front garden which had become a jungle with all the recent rain.  My cousin David Slade called in for morning tea & we had a good chat and catch up.  After David left I went over to the golf club to plant in some new shrubs in the Golf Club gardens. In the afternoon I worked on the photo graveyard.

Thursday 8th March 2012 I did some more work in the gardens & on the photos before going to my beauticians for a manicure and pedicure which was long overdue.   Shane called in to say hello on his way home after work.

Friday 9th March 2012 I was up early to pick some roses for Di & Neil to take to a funeral.  After that I worked on the photo graveyard & then went to the golf course to plant out some lillies that had been donated to the club.  In the afternoon I did some more sorting of photos as I had found another eleven photo albums to be cleared.  Friday evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner as Peter was on raffle duties.  We won a meat tray in the raffles so that was a bonus.

Saturday 10th March 2012 we were up very early to go over to the Golf Club to put a door on one of the ladies toilets upstairs.  It had to be done before the club opened to the public.  Fortunately we had some staff arrive to give us a hand so the job was done reasonably quickly.  After that we did some shopping at Bunnings and the household shopping.  The Holden Scramble Luncheon & Presentation was on at 12.30 so we went over to the club so that I could get some Presentation photos for the Golfers Blog.  That evening we went to Mark & Anne's for dinner and I had my first experience at playing crib.  I managed to scramble a bunch of roses from the garden to take to Anne.

Sunday 11th March 2012 we went to Rod & Anne's to see the kids.  Emily was asleep so we had a couple of hours playing with Joel before we had to leave for golf.   Our golfing partners were Wally & Robyn Johnston & we had a great day on the course having quite a few highlights playing a 4 person ambrose.  By co-incidence Wally & Robyn had their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, we were having our 46th wedding anniversary on Monday and Robyn has a birthday this Wednesday so we had plenty to celebrate over dinner at the club after golf.

Monday 12th March 2012 (today) we were up early and over to F-Troop by 7.00am.  We had a big project to do that took all morning so we had a busy day.  I had a nanny nap in the afternoon before doing some more work on the photo graveyard.  It is our 46th wedding anniversary today which is a quiet day for us as it is 14 years today that we said our last goodbye to our son Greg.   We did enough celebrating last night to last us the distance.

Tomorrow I have an early start for golf playing in a 2 Ball Irish Multiplier which should be hilarious. I hope I don't wipe any holes to ruin my partners game.  The weather is supposed to be nice so I hope the forecast is right.
