This week was all about the golf club gardens. With all the rain we have had it was a good opportunity to get some of the gardens cleaned up and new plants in while the ground was nice and soft.
We are waiting with great anticipation for our new baby grandchild due this coming week. We do not know if we are getting a girl or a boy so the excitement is building.
Tuesday 7th June 2011 we completed wood chipping the putting green garden at the Golf Club. That was a good project finished. I did not play golf as the course was still very wet from last week's rain.
Wednesday 8th June 2011 I planted out some new agavi plants at the wedding garden that were donated to the club and tidied up some of the smaller gardens at the front of the club.
Thursday 9th June 2011 I planted out some new Hebe plants that were donated to the club. The ground was still nice and damp so I did some weeding on the 17th & the 15th gardens. The rain has encouraged all the weeds to thrive so we have some huge weeding jobs ahead of us.
Friday 10th June 2011 Peter left for a Golfing Tour of the Gold Coast with a group of 20 golfers from the Gosford Club. I spent the day finishing off the weeding of the garden at the 15th as the weather forecast for the weekend was not good and the job needed to be finished.
Saturday 11th June 2011 it was a wet miserable day as was forecast. I had a day of R & R at home catching up on a few jobs inside after a good sleep in. Peter played golf at Ballina and had a good day.
Sunday 12th June 2011 I went to Rod & Anne's place at 9.30am through teeming rain, thunder & lightning.
I stayed there until 3 o'clock having some good quality time with Joel. Keeping him amused on a rainy day was not easy as all he wanted was to get outside and be taken for a walk. We had some fun in his little tent where we pretended to be outside. I don't think my back will ever be the same after multiple times of in and out of the child sized tent. I drove home again in torrential rain so there was little that could be done in the garden. Peter played golf at Royal Pines which they all enjoyed. The golf at Gosford was washed out due to the amount of rain that had fallen.
Monday 13th June 2011 (today) - another bad weather day. Being a long weekend we did not have any formal F-Troop day. I was intending to go over to the club and do some shrub trimming but the weather was very off putting. Instead I spent the day on household chores and did some much needed tidy up of my office desk. The showers continued on and off & it was not worth starting anything in the garden. Peter played golf at The Glades and they were lucky enough to have an overcast but dry day.
More rain is forecast for tomorrow. I am not playing golf as it is going to be too wet on the course even if the rain stops. I am hoping to get some gardening done at home weather permitting.
