I thought that I had a quiet week until I looked back over the week's activities and it has been all go.
Friday 26th February 2010 we had a clean up day of the wedding garden area at the Golf Club with emphasis on the Gazebo which has not had a good clean for quite a while. We have had such a lot of rain & windy weather that it does not take long for the grime to build up. As well as tidying the gardens we took to the Gazebo & surrounds with the Kartcha which worked exceptionally well. There are going to be eight weddings there this next month so it has to be kept in pristine condition.
Saturday 27th February 2010 after the regular morning shopping trip I was back at the wedding garden to place some satin cushions on the garden seats for the wedding guests & took some photos of the Magnolia Room which looked magnificent in purple & white.
Sunday morning we had a very quiet breakfast as Rod, Anne & Joel had gone camping at Patonga ( a close by beach area of the Central Coast). This was Joel's first camping trip. Anne messaged me a couple of photos taken of Joel at Patonga (attached).
We had a nice day at golf with our playing partners Neville & Jan Walker. My highlight was winning a ball. We stayed at the Club for dinner with Jan & Neville which finished off a good day.
Monday 1st March 2010 early morning was very showery but we had a lot of work to catch up on at F-Troop so we were over at the club at 7.00am. The F-Troopers main task was to cut & stack timber which we sell off for firewood to raise money for our F-Troop Projects. Through last week we received a donation of bush rock which allowed me to finish a new garden at the 5th tee. We managed to get it all completed that day which was a huge task. It was a full day arriving home late afternoon.
Tuesday 2nd March 2010 I played golf with Mary Ellis & Helen Stuart. We had a fun day even though it was a par match. My highlight was winning nearest the pin at the 8th hole.
Judy Verlander got a Hole-in-one so of course a glass of red wine was necessary to celebrate the occasion. I was home a little late that afternoon. One of my golfing friends has relatives that lived in Moree & she had a book on Moree High School which she lent to me to read. In the book I found records of the School Dux & Captains. Dad (Leo) was listed as Dux in 1927, and Graham (Butch) was listed as School Captain & Dux in 1969. There was also a photo of Dad as a young boy at school in 1927. It was very interesting book to read - going right back to the pioneering days & there were a lot of familiar names recorded. I scanned some of the relevant pages to my computer so that I had a record to keep.
Wednesday 3rd March 2010 was a very quiet day, being the 12th anniversary of losing Greg to cancer. I filled in the day cleaning house & steam cleaned some of the carpets to keep myself busy. That night we relived happy memories of him over a bottle of red wine.
Thursday 4th March 2010 (today) I was in washing mode doing sheets, towels etc only to find it was pouring rain early in the day. A little later I gave a vote of confidence that the weather was going to fine up, hung everything on the line & went over to the Golf Club for a days work in the gardens there. The Tibouchina trees are just coming into flower & we have many of them around the course. This year we planted some new Crepe Myrtle trees and they have been having their first flowering. I spent the day chipping, weeding, raking and poisoning weeds & hoped that it did not pour with rain before it took hold. The rain held off & the washing got dry - so I was happy.
Rain and colder weather have been predicted for the next few days so I was pleased that I made the effort today & got all those jobs finished.
Lyn & Richard are due back this weekend from Canberra where they have been visiting Tammy, Trent & grandsons Bailey & Noah.
