Wednesday 9th December 2009 - My QVB Experience

Each year at this time I have my annual visit to the QVB in Sydney to view the Swarovski Crystal Christmas Tree that materializes each year for the holiday season. I love to see this display each year because it is so outstanding. For 2009 they have excelled themselves with yet another fabulous display of crystals. You cannot miss it in the QVB as it stretches from the ground floor to the dome area (three stories and then some).

This year I notice that they have introduced the sale of a Christmas Star Ornament for $130 each with the benefits of $30 per sale going to the Starlight Childrens Foundation which is worthy of consideration. (see attached information notice)

It was time to get into my Christmas shopping list so I spent the day in my usual stomping grounds and managed to get the ball rolling with some purchases done before my energy levels ran down about 2.30pm.

I was lucky with the trains today getting an express train this morning from Gosford that ran on time and by fluke managed to get a special Newcastle express train back that only had one stop at Woy Woy before Gosford which got me home safely in good time and was not crowded having missed the work and school traffic.

The trip to Sydney was worth it just to see the tree, so reducing my Christmas list was a bonus. None of the attached photos or the video capture the true beauty of the tree so try to get there before the holiday season is over so you can see it for yourself.
