This has been yet another busy week - never a dull moment.
Tuesday 11th August was miserable wet weather for golf. My playing partners were Rosalie Dyer, Yvonne Wilson and Julie Hazzard - we played anyway because it was a special event being "Grandmother's day" and of course I just had to play as I qualified for the first time. As I am not a wet weather player the result was not good but the company was great so it was a case of lovely day and pity about the golf.
Wednesday 12th I had a catch up day at home as the weekend was going to be busy with the Pro Am scheduled for Sunday as well as it being my birthday. Saturday there is a skins match scheduled and our visiting Professonal Golfer Jason Shine, from Western Australia s due to arrive and is staying with us until the following Wednesday.
Thursday 13th was a much better day for golf, blue sky and sunshine. My playing partners were Yvonne Cumming and Sharon Anderson and it was one of those wonderful par matches.
I played really well for the first half - turning with plus 4 - then my wheels fell off - so it was half of a good day.
Friday 14th I was off to the hairdressers for a refresher hairstyle. In the afternoon I spent some time watering the golf gardens as hot weather was predicted for the weekend.
Saturday 15th Jason arrived as scheduled. Jason stayed with us last year when the Pro Am was on so he is just like a member of the family. We watched the skins game in the afternoon & attended a BBQ dinner that night as guests of one of the sponsors of the Pro Am.
Sunday 16th was my birthday and I had a very quiet relaxed day. Rod, Anne & Joel came over for breakfast & Rod cooked pancakes while I had a good cuddle of Joel. Peter and Jason both went to play golf so I had the rest of the day to myself soaking up the sun and getting a good dose of vitamin D, doing the Sunday Sudoko and listening to my latest audio book. I got my "Brag book" (Joel's photos) up to date until my photo printer went on strike. In all a very quite relaxing day. That night we were all at the Golf Club for the Presentation Night for the Pro Am and stayed on for dinner with all the family and Ken & Marg Gardiner so it was a night of celebration and a very large birthday cake which I shared with all the golf club members.
Shane & Sam are leaving for their holiday in Bali tomorrow so it was our last chance to see them before they left.
Monday 17th was F-Troop day and we worked hard to get the wedding garden finally finished which was a good project out of the way. Another beautiful day to be outside.
Tuesday 18th (today) was another golf day in perfect weather. My playing partners today were Yvonne Cumming and Val Anderson. I played much better this time - probably something to do with the good weather. Seems as though I am definately a fair weather player. I had a text from Shane & Sam to say they had arrived safely in Bali & were relaxing by the pool (Sounds wonderful!)
