Tuesday 1st April 2008

This has not been the best week for Mum. After last week's excitement of being able to communicate via the new hearing aids Mum has suffered another mini stroke which has left her unable to form her words properly. Her speech comes out in garbled form even though she is well aware of what she wants to say and it is very difficult to understand & comprehend her needs. Her ability to use her left hand is also impaired so the stroke has had a devastating effect on her wellbeing.

Needless to say I have been spending a lot of time at Tarragal House however did fit in a game of golf on Sunday. It was a beautiful day - just perfect for golf. Our playing partners were Bob Knox & Doon Jansen & we had a great day. The boys beat the girls so we had to buy the keno ticket once again.

Saturday night I had another lesson in playing "500" . Mark & Anne (my tutors) came for dinner & then we joined Gwen & Bruce and Vicki & Bob for a friendly game to give me some 'real' practice and also to discuss our pending golf holiday on the Gold Coast in July. By this time I hope to be proficient enough to participate in cards & hopefully keep up with the pace.

Monday was a huge day with the F-Troop at the Golf Course. F-Troop is getting a lot of support from the members & we are achieving good things on the course both in the gardens & general course maintenence.
