Monday 24th March 2014

This week went very quickly with Peter away for the most of it - playing golf at Nelson's Bay with his mates.

Tuesday 18th March 2014 - I played golf with Annie Brink, Georgina Lamb and June Bowen.  It was an Irish Day so we dressed in Green and Orange to add some spirit to the day.  The course played very heavy and my golf score was bad.  We had some fun and laughs along the way so it was all good.  I won a ball as they were done in reverse order of play (for Irish Day) which will give you a good idea of my score.

Wednesday 19th March 2014 I went out to Erina Fair to do some shopping before Joel and Emily arrived to have a sleepover.  Anne and Rod stayed for dinner and celebrated Anne finally finishing work so that she can prepare for our new baby due in five/six weeks.  Joel and Emily were great overnight and settled very easily.
Emily loved her "Wiggles" shirt that I had picked up for her while shopping at Erina (photo above)

Thursday 20th March 2014 Joel and Emily slept in until quarter to seven with only one disturbance from Emily during the night which was good.  We made some strawberry cupcakes after we had strawberry pancakes for breakfast.  Then we packed a picnic lunch so we could have it at the golf course.  First we walked in the double stroller to the railway to see the trains and to have the traditional ice cream.  From there I walked them to the Golf Club where we got the golf cart out so we could ride out on the course to the 13th tee where there is a seat for us to sit and have lunch.  Joel loved playing with the golf balls and the golf ball retriever with only one ball needing to be rescued from the dam.  After lunch we put the cart away and walked home so that Emily could have her nap. Anne called in mid afternoon to pick them up and said that she had a restful day which was good.

Friday 21st March 2014 I did a houseclean and catchup at home before Peter arrived home about 10.30 am from his Nelson's Bay Trip.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles.  We won two meat trays which was a bonus.

Saturday 22nd March 2014 we did the household shopping first thing and then while Peter was at golf I cleaned up the Wedding Garden for an afternoon wedding at the Golf Club.

Sunday 23rd March 2014 Rod, Anne Joel and Emily came for breakfast before we went to golf.  I had some fun playing with the kids before we left for golf about 10.45am.  Our playing partners at golf were Dick and Joyce Bosley who were good company.  I was an improved golfer coming in 3rd place which was not good enough to win a prize but I did win a ball.  It was Legacy Day at the Club and the Bistro was open so we stayed at the Golf Club for dinner.

Monday 24th March 2014 we were up early for F-Troop getting over to the club by 7.00am.  We managed to get some good work done by morning tea even though we did not have many helpers today.  This afternoon I caught up with the ironing an packed my bag for Melbourne.

Tomorrow I am off to Melbourne with Di Beechey (who is my right hand girl at F-Troop) to see the Melbourne Flower Show which I am really looking forward to.  It has been a lot of years since I have been to Melbourne so I am looking forward to having a few days to look around and enjoy the city.

Monday 17th March 2014

The last couple of weeks have had a lot of wasted time - having both Peter & I not well for the best part of a week and some wet weather thrown in.

Sunday 2nd March 2014 The weather cleared from yesterday and we played golf with George & Vicki Foster who were great company.   We had a nice day with them and then we all went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with some of our golfing friends.

Monday 3rd March 2014 we were up early for F-Troop.  I had a busy day weeding while the ground was still soft from the recent rain. We worked until lunch time and then went home for a nanny nap as I was not feeling too well with a chest infection. It was a low day today as it was the 16th anniversary of losing Greg.

Tuesday 4th March 2014 I played golf with Anne Burke, Debbie Flanigan and Lorraine Linnert. We had a good fun day. Peter went to Sydney to watch some of the yacht races on the harbour.

Wednesday 5th March 2014 I had an early morning dentist appointment to have my final health check and clean - so I can tick that off my to do list. Peter came home early from golf not feeling well either.

Thursday 6th March 2014 it was a joint sick day with both of us feeling low.

Friday 7th March 2014 was a repeat of Thursday and we cancelled out on our usual Friday Night at the Golf Club.

Saturday 8th March 2014 I had a quiet day at home and Peter went to watch the local cricket. Rod, Anne, Joel and Emily came over and stayed for dinner.  Joel was feeling better after having a week sick with a chest infection.

Sunday 9th March 2014 We reluctantly went to golf as we were booked in for a team event with Rosalie Dyer and Fred Middleton.  The company was good but the golf was not up to par.  We did not go out for dinner as we were still in recovery mode.

Monday 10th March 2014 we went to F-Troop but I took an easy day not doing anything too heavy.

Tuesday 11th March 2014  I did not play golf as I was still feeling low.  I did a bit of gardening around the house and cleaned up the hedges.

Wednesday 12th March 2014 was our 48th Wedding Anniversary.  Peter played golf and I worked on the golf club gardens in the morning.  In the afternoon Anne picked me up and we collected Joel and Emily from kindy so they could have a sleep over at our place as we were looking after them tomorrow.  We did manage to find time for a celebratory wine after dinner.

Thursday 13th March 2014 it was a fine weather day so we took Joel and Emily to their favourite beach where they wore themselves out swimming and running up and down the beach.  They both went to sleep in the car coming home so I put them straight down when we got home and they slept for a couple of hours. Anne picked them up after work and then it was our time for a rest.

Friday 14th March 2014 There was a wedding in the Wedding garden in the afternoon so I went over to clean up in the morning.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles and won a meat tray.

Saturday 15th March 2014 we did the household shopping and then caught up with the house cleaning and ironing that fell behind when I was sick. That evening we went to Bert & Annie Brink's house for a fund raiser night for our young trainee Pro's.  We had a good night with about 30 people attending and raised in excess of $1300.

Sunday 16th March 2014 Peter left for Nelson's Bay for a week of Golf Touring with his golf mates.  I played golf with Kevin O'Brien, Col Kelly & Alice Diamond.  The weather was fine and sunny when we first started but by the 7th hole a thunder storm came through and we were called off the course twice.  The lightning and thunder was very frightening out on the course.  The storm blew over and we finished our match.  I was playing well until the storm hit but at the end of the day both Alice and I won a ball which made our day.  That evening we all went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with some of our golf friends. Peter's golf game was washed out as well which was  disappointing for the touring team.

Monday 17th March 2014 (today) I was at F-Troop at 7.00am.  We had a busy day cleaning up after yesterday's storm which brought down a lot of loose timber and large tree limbs. I worked at the club until 2 o'clock and then came home for my nanny nap.

A fine day is forecast for tomorrow so golf is on my agenda.
