Saturday 1st March 2014

We have had a lot of rain this week which has been great for the gardens and the golf club.

Tuesday 25th February 2014 I played golf with Rosemary Cohen and Joyce Bosley and we had a rain free day and managed to get some good highlights even thought the scores were not great. I parred the 1st and the 16th which were highlights for me and I also got second prize in the 100 club which paid for my day.

Wednesday 26th February 2014 I was at the dentist having a health check and filling repair.  I am a great chicken when it comes to dental work and am filled with dread when I have to have work done.  My dentist is great and I survived the episode with no dramas.  In the afternoon Anne dropped Joel and Emily for a sleep over and a babysit tomorrow.  Joel and Emily are very well adjusted children and settle really well so they are easy to look after.

Thursday 27th February 2014 the weather was closing in but not raining.  We decided to take Joel and Emily to Avoca Beach which is their favourite surf spot.  I like it because it is very safe for little ones.  The kids loved it and we spent the morning there in good weather even though it looked like it was raining everywhere else.  That night Peter had a meeting to go at the Golf Club to so Rod & Anne stayed and had dinner with me and went home after the kids had their bath and were ready for bed.

Friday 28th February 2014 I had a sleep in as it was not a good weather day.  Later we went over to Bunnings as I needed to buy some more garden tools and some new flowers for the golf course. That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles.  We won one meat tray.

Saturday 1st March 2014 (today) the rain had set in again.  There were two weddings due in the wedding garden today which was unfortunate for the brides because the rain continued.  I decided to go over early and clean up at the Wedding Gazebo just in case the weather improved.  Just as well as the rain held off for a couple of hours and the first wedding was held in the Gazebo.  The next wedding was not so lucky and was probably held on the covered balcony of the club.   I managed to get the new plants in at the Golf Club Gardens before I came home drenched to the skin.  The golf has been cancelled so Peter missed out on his golf today.

Hopefully the weather will clear and we will get on tomorrow.

Monday 24th February 2014

Another busy week gone by...some nice rain for the gardens as well.

Sunday 16th February 2014 we did not play golf because we wanted to organise ourselves for our upcoming houseboat excursion.  Just as well we did not play golf as it was washed out with some heavy rain.  Rod, Anne, Joel and Emily came over in the afternoon and stayed for dinner.

Monday 17th February 2014 we were up early to pack the car and were away by 8.30am to drive to Brooklyn where we had our houseboat booked.  It took a little while to book in and pack our things on the boat but we were out on the water in plenty of time to enjoy the day.  The Marina crew took the houseboat out into deep water from the berth for us and then left us to do our own thing for the next few days.  We were lucky and had some good weather and that evening moored at Refuge Bay for the evening.  The houseboat was very big with plenty of floor room so Anne could move around in her wheelchair.
You can view more photos by visiting my travel blog (click on my profile (above) and select my travel blog from the list of blogs)  The boys fished through the day while Anne and I relaxed and we played cards in the evening after a BBQ dinner.

Tuesday 18th February 2014 We moved further into the river (photo of our GPS tracking above) and the boys tried again to get some fish while Anne and I relaxed.  We ended back in Refuge Bay for the evening.

Wednesday 19th February 2014 We had the morning out on the water doing some more fishing before it was time to bring the houseboat back at 3 o'clock.  The boys did catch some nice fish over the few days so it was BBQ fish for lunch.  We arrived back just as the electrical storm hit with some heavy rain.  The Marina staff came out to collect the boat (normal procedure) and took us back to the berth where we had to wait for the rain to lighten up before we could unpack.  Our trip home from Brooklyn was uneventful - we chose the Old Pacific Highway to beat the traffic.  Most of the storm was over by the time we got home.

Thursday 20th February2014 I went out to West Gosford to have my hair cut and coloured and in the afternoon went into Gosford to have my nails done, pedicure etc.

Friday 21st February 2014 we did the household shopping and went to Sara Lee Factory to pick up some bargains there.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles.  We came home empty handed this week but had a nice night.

Saturday 22nd February 2014 I was up early to go over to the Golf Club to clean up the gardens for a garden wedding in the afternoon.  Peter played golf.  Phil and Lorraine arrived just as I had finished which was good timing so we went up onto the balcony to have a few drinks while Peter played golf.  We went home in time to get ready to go to Turramurra to celebrate Anne's 60th birthday.  We had a nice night there with all of Graham and Anne's family and friends.  It was late by the time we got home and had a nightcap.
Phil and Lorraine stayed with us for a couple of nights.

Sunday 23rd February 2014 we had a leisurely breakfast and then went over to the Golf Club to play golf with Phil and Lorraine - hitting off at 12.00pm.  We had a great day on the course with some good highlights
and lots of laughter.  After golf presentation we went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with some of our golf friends. Again we made a late night of it with a nightcap when we got home. It was a good day that we all enjoyed.

Monday 24th February 2014 we were up early to go to F-Troop at 7.00am.  Phil & Lorraine decided not to stay another day and headed back to Moree after morning tea at the Golf Club.  We were tired after a big weekend and finished up F-Troop about 12 o'clock to come home for a nanny nap.

Saturday 15th February 2014

The last two weeks have gone in a flash.  The weather has been very hot and dry but we have had some nice light showers the last few days to cool things down and give the gardens some relief.

Friday 31st January 2014 was Rod's 41st Birthday so we all went to Trackside Restaurant at West Gosford to celebrate.  It is good there as they have a playroom for the children.  Anne's parents Ron & Rae, Anne's brother Jason, Joel, Emily, Ron, Anne, Shane, Danielle, Peter & I had a nice dinner there and enjoyed the night.

Saturday 1st February 2014 I was over at the golf club to tidy up the gardens and surrounds for the Wedding Expo that is being held on Sunday.

Sunday 2nd February 2014 We played golf with Neville and Jan Walker.  We had a lovely day kept bearable by a nice breeze to keep the temperature down.  That evening we went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with some of the other golfers.

Monday 3rd February 2014 We were up early for F-Troop.  During the week we had been donation a petrol golf cart for F-Troop use which will be a huge help to me.  I am all set up now to carry tools, hoses etc. and we will not have any more wear and tear on our private golf cart which I have been using up till now.

Tuesday 4th February was the Ladies Golf Opening Day.  My playing partners were Jan Walker & Jann Henebury and we had a very pleasant day out on the course and got some good team pluses in a team par game.

Wednesday 5th February 2014 I spent the morning at the Golf Club working on the front street gardens which is a huge job.  I worked early in the morning to avoid the heat and then came home for a nanny nap.

Thursday 6th February 2014 Peter had to do some repairs to our golf cart so I went over and worked in the Front Street Garden at the club and got some good work done.

Friday 7th February 2014 We did the household shopping and then went to Bunnings to pick up some garden fertilizer and odds and ends.  While there we spotted a garden trailer that was perfect to pull behind the Petrol Golf Cart for F-Troop.  That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and Raffles and won three meat trays so that was a bonus.

Saturday 8th February 2014 I did some more work over at the Golf Club gardens early to beat the heat.
That evening we went to the Club Presentation Night which was well attended.  No prizes for us but we had a good night.

Sunday 9th February 2014 Rod, Anne, Joel and Emily came over for breakfast.  We had a late start at golf - hitting off at 12 o'clock so I took Joel and Emily for a walk to see the trains at Gosford Station which is getting to be one of their favourite things to do when they come over.  Our playing partners at Golf were Robin & Doug Incoll and we had a good day - my highlight was getting a gobbler chip in.  After golf we went to the Gosford Hotel for dinner with some of our golf friends.

Monday 10th February 2014 we were up early for F-Troop having a lot of projects to do. The Golf cart and trailer got it's first workout and it went well.

Tuesday 11th February 2014 I played golf with Yvonne Cummings and Robin Incoll and we had a good day.  We had some cloud cover so it was pleasant playing golf.  I was an improved putter so that made my day.

Wednesday 12th February 2014 I went to Sydney with Anne to see the Lion King at the Capitol Theatre.
We caught an early train so we could have some retail therapy before the show and managed to pick up some good bargain buys for Joel and Emily.  We had morning tea at Victoria Building and lunch at the pub near the theatre.  We really enjoyed the show which had great puppetry work, costumes and wonderful voices.  We caught a good fast train home after the show and Rod picked us up at the railway.  Rod, Anne, Joel and Emily stayed for dinner with the kids staying with us for a sleepover so Anne could get some good rest.  Joel and Emily settled well so we had no dramas.

Thursday 13th February 2014 Joel and Emily slept in until 7.30 which was great.  It was a nice beach day so we took them to the Avoca Beach wading Pool which is their favourite beach.  The water there is very shallow and safe so they could have a good splash about.  They were tired by the time we got back so we had a quiet afternoon napping and watching cartoons.  Anne picked the kids up after work and I could report that they were well behaved and no trouble at all.

Friday 14th February 2014 I had to go to the Doctors for more prescriptions and then we went on to Erina because we wanted to organise out travel insurance for our upcoming China trip.  Peter had some trouble finding some parts that he wanted for golf club maintenance so we ended up finding the right place out at Erina eventually.  In the afternoon I put some fertilizer out on the front Rose Gardens as we had rain forecast.
That evening we went to the Golf Club for Dinner and Raffles.  We won another meat tray which will be handy for our Hawksbury River Houseboat Cruise next week. We celebrated Anne Stimpson's birthday with a cake.

Saturday 15th February 2014 (today) I was back at the Golf Club to tidy up the Wedding Garden for today's wedding.  It was sprinkling rain so I had my doubts that the wedding could be held in the garden but I cleaned it up anyway.  Just as well as there were only very light occasional showers through the day so the outside wedding went ahead.  In the afternoon I went to Aldi's to pick up some garden tools and equipment that were on special.

The weather forecast says heavy rain for tomorrow and I hope it is right.  We need more rain to fill the dams at the golf course.  We are not playing golf tomorrow as we have to organise ourselves for the Houseboat Cruise so rain will not upset us.
