These last two weeks have gone so quickly I can hardly remember what happened. I seem to have been very busy what ever it was.
Wednesday 5th June 2013 I had I really good day in Sydney with Anne doing some retail therapy before having lunch with some of the golf girls at the pub near the Capitol Theatre and then going to see the Addams Family which was a great show. We bought some good bargains during our shopping spree and really enjoyed the whole day. We timed our train travel really well and hardly had any waiting time.
Thursday 6th June 2013 I had a catch up day, paid some bills etc.
Friday 7th June 2013 we went to the Golf Club so Peter could mark out some of the parking area. While he was doing that I worked on the wedding gardens and created some pots of succulents when I culled out the gardens, That evening we went to the Golf Club for dinner and the raffles. Louise was celebrating her 10years of living independently so we shared her cake. Louise gave me a painting that she had done herself which we have hung in the dining room.
Saturday 8th June 2013 it was the Long Weekend. Rod & Anne & children went to Nowra for the weekend & Shane went to bowls. Peter did not play golf so we did a run around some of the nurseries looking for plants for the golf club garden.
Sunday 9th June 2013 we played golf with Duncan & Rosalie and had a lovely day. We had a slow cooker dinner on so we did not go out for our usual Sunday Night dinner at the pub.
Monday 10th June 2013 we had an unofficial F-Troop Day as it was a public holiday. We had a lot of new plants donated to the club so we spent the morning planting out a lot of those.
Tuesday 11th June 2013 I played golf with Christine & Narelle and had a really good day. Our golf was not too good as the course was very wet but the company was good. Narelle had a better day and won her division.
Wednesday 12th June 2013 I worked on weeding the gardens out the front. We have had so much rain that the weeds are materialising at will.
Thursday 13th June 2013 I finished off the front gardens in the morning and then went into Gosford for some shopping and had my nails done.
Friday 14th June 2013 we had the NBN Technician here to connect us to the fast broadband which I have been hanging out for. The NBN have been backwards and forwards here for the last two months and now we are finally connected. We had some concerns with our home phone as we have a back to base home security system which sometimes conflicts with the NBN. That evening we went to the club for the dinner and the raffles. We have not done well in the raffles for the last few weeks and had to buy some meat this week. That evening we discovered that our home phone was no longer working. By that time it was too late to do anything about it.
Saturday 15th June 2013 We did some grocery shopping and Peter went to golf. Shane went to mow his lawns. While they were away I contacted the NBN help line about the phone and after a 20 minute wait on the line I finally got someone. Unfortunately he could only talk in technical terms wanting me to pair the phone with the NBN Modem which I had no idea of how to do. I was told it would be very expensive to call out a technician and we should try to do it our self. I told him we would ring back when there was somebody at home with some technical know how. Fortunately Peter had his telephone experience and had taught some to Shane. When Shane came home we tried everything to get the phone working again including going to Erina to buy a new set of phones. They had to be charged up overnight so we had to go without the phone for a day.
Sunday 16th June 2013 Shane was up early and had the phones up and running and he discovered a broken wire connection which was causing all the trouble. It was fixed in no time and all is working well except that I was disappointed in the new speed of the NBN. It was a little quicker than normal but not much that you could notice. I made up some protein balls for Shane as he is on a new health kick. I also made a Zucchini Pie to take over to Rod & Anne's as we were going over to celebrate Emily's 2nd Birthday. Emily had a lovely day opening up all her presents but her favourites are still the iPhone and the iPad which she just loves. She is amazingly good at operating both of them. She can open the slider, slide to the app that she wants, taps to open it and finds her way through all the different apps with no trouble at all. This next generation of children will learn very differently than we did. Anne cooked us a beautiful baked dinner which we enjoyed with a glass of wine or two. Joel enjoyed the day - particularly the angry bird that laid eggs.
Monday 17th June 2013 We were at F-Troop early and worked through until morning tea. The USA Golf Final Round was on that day and we had it taped ready to watch when we went home. I rang up the NBN and asked them to upgrade my speed to the Boost 1 level which is 10 times faster for an extra $5 per month. The top speed of 100 times faster costs $20 per month extra so I could not justify going that far as much as I might like to.
Tuesday 18th June 2013 I played golf with Lyn & Judy and they were great company. We did have some highlights but our scores were not the best - but not the worst either. We were lucky and had some nice sunshine so it was a pleasure to be out on the course.
Wednesday 19th June 2013 (today) I have had a lazy day doing bits and pieces. I have been to Gosford to do some banking and shopping, a bit of housework and some bill catch ups. The new NBN speed has kicked in and it is very good for uploading photos etc. It should be especially good for when I am doing my travel blog photos that I am working on now. The photos only take seconds to load. Brian has dropped in some more plants for the Golf Club Gardens which will keep me busy next week.
Winter weather has set in and today is a cool 16 degrees and overcast/showery. It seems like a good afternoon to stay inside and get some photos done.
